Lilly Singh "took the stairs" to becoming an internet sensation, as YouTubing brought her solace when her life took an undesirable direction. Although she has since transcended being a YouTube star, joining the ranks of Hollywood fame, Singh has been tight-lipped about her romantic life.

Canadian native Lilly Singh drew her first breath on September 26, 1988. Her parents gave her a traditional Sikh upbringing and expected her to follow a conventional career path. Although she initially listened to them and pursued a Psychology degree at York University in Toronto, it wasn't what she wanted.

Singh was an extroverted kid who needed to do something that allowed her complete creative freedom, so she joined YouTube. At the time, she said there weren't many South Asian girls on the platform and saw that as a great opportunity. She took the plunge and sourced her comedic material from childhood memories.

YouTube became a haven for Singh, and she gradually diversified her content. Today, she not only has over 10 million subscribers, but she's the first woman to host her own late-night show, "A Little Late with Lilly Singh," in over thirty years.

In addition to hosting, Singh has several writing, producing, and acting credits, including a starring role in the 2015 TV series, "Lana Steele: Makeup Spy." She appeared as Cathy in "Bad Moms" opposite funny women Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell. She also voiced Misty and Bubbles in "Ice Age: Collision Course" opposite Ray Romano and John Leguizamo.

Yet, despite the fame she has accumulated from sharing much of her life story through comedy, Singh has stayed mum on her personal life and more so on her dating history. Still, while she has it heavily guarded, Singh has been clear on her dating preferences and, more recently, her sexual orientation.

Lilly Singh Was Linked to Another Famous Youtuber in the Past

Singh was linked to longtime internet star Yousef Erakat, famously known as FouseyTube. The actor and Youtube prankster began posting videos in 2014 and enjoyed rewarding success for himself and his family. However, his career deteriorated in recent years following his mental health breakdown.

Reports of his rumored romance with Singh surfaced in 2015, as the two began appearing frequently on each other's social accounts. They collaborated on skits for about three years before stopping sometime in 2018. It is assumed that that's when their relationship ended; however, neither ever addressed the speculation.

Lilly Singh Came Out as Bisexual in 2019

In a courageous February 2019 tweet, Singh described herself as "female," "colored," and "bisexual." She continued, "Throughout my life these have proven to be obstacles from time to time. But now I'm fully embracing them as my superpowers."

A year later, she reflected on how it's been living as an openly bisexual woman of color. Singh admitted that while coming out lifted an enormous weight off her shoulders, another settled on her chest, as she now had to face judgment. Last year in April, she opened up again about the experience.

Singh confessed to Vogue that coming to terms with her sexual identity at 30 was a significant source of fear. As a youngster, she fell under the impression that by that age, she would've had everything figured out. So when she came out, it felt like she was "falling behind in life." Along with that internal struggle has been learning to flirt with other women — admittedly a "work in progress."

Lilly Singh Prefers to Keep Her Love Life Away from the Spotlight

And she has indeed kept it hidden. She once said she wanted to keep her romances off social media because she wanted to "date the old fashion way." In her reflection, the comedienne also expressed her desire for ironclad privacy, saying that her sexuality (and her dating life) were one aspect she "didn't want to explain."
