Anna Cathcart has been making waves in the entertainment industry, especially since starring as Kitty in the famous Netflix film "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" and its sequels, "To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You" and "To All the Boys: Always and Forever."

The Canada-born actress has also starred in the television show "Odd Squad," Disney's "Descendants" and the Brat show, "Zoe Valentine."

Anna Cathcart Is Half-Chinese and Half-Irish

Anna is of Chinese and Irish descent. As seen in an Instagram post of her parents, Anna's Irish heritage comes from her father, while her Chinese roots come from her mother.

Although not much is known about her mother's career, Anna Cathcart's sister once shared photos and a video of her on Instagram. As written in the post, Anna's mom is a fantastic person with a great sense of humor. As it appears, her personality is closer to that of Anna's sister.

Meanwhile, her dad, Jamie Cathcart, is a Specialist Hydrotechnical Engineer at Knight Piesold's Vancouver. After becoming a civil engineer, he studied at the University of British Columbia to earn his doctorate in hydrology.

Two years later, Sara joined Anna on a "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" red carpet event and shared a sweet tribute to her sister on social media.

He has been a consulting engineer for over three decades, working in the hydroelectric and mining industries. According to his company's website, Jamie "is involved with water management and hydraulic design studies for mining, water supply, and hydroelectric projects."

Anna Cathcart Has a Look-Alike Sister

Besides her parents, Anna has a good relationship with her older sister, Sara, who physically resembles the actress. Besides their SouthEast Asian features, Anna and Sara have similar auburn hair, and the older Cathcart once referred to her sister as her "mini-me."

Anna and Sara share a close bond, evidently seen through years of sweet Instagram posts. Although Sara did not pursue the same career, she has been supportive and proud of Anna's success. In a 2016 Instagram post, Sara praised her sister and wrote: "PBS and now Disney are so so lucky to have you!"

"I couldn't be more proud of you, sis!! You killed it on the carpet and on the big screen. Just like that lady asked, I'm starting to wonder who's the big sister with all that confidence."

Despite their age difference, Anna and Sara spent a lot of time together and celebrated Halloween in 2021 with matching costumes – Anna dressed as Woody, while Sara donned a Buzz Lightyear Costume.

Sara only has more reason to be proud of her sister as Anna is set to star in Netflix's romantic dramedy, "XO, Kitty," a spin-off of "To All The Boys I've Loved Before."
