Finn Wolfhard's Parents Encouraged His Interest in Acting and Music - Facts about His Family
Finn Wolfhard's parents have established names for themselves in their own right. The couple's shared creative energy and passion for what they do have influenced the teen actor's life and career.
Starring as Mike Wheeler on the hit series "Stranger Things" propelled actor Finn Wolfhard to stardom and opened doors for him to appear in numerous hit movies, including "The Turning" and "It."
He would not be here today without his parents' unwavering encouragement of his chosen career. Mary Jolivet and Eric Wolfhard, Finn's parents, have been instrumental in his success.
Finn Wolfhard's Parents Supported His Love of Creativity
Mary and Eric have been nothing but supportive of Finn's international acting career. The young actor has filmed not only in his hometown of Vancouver but also in other places like Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Wicklow, Ireland.
Finn and his parents are no strangers to misadventures while traveling. They got stranded at JFK Airport once because of a snowstorm, and one of them slept on the floor.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, Finn returned to his parents' Vancouver home, where he quarantined after the "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" production postponed filming.

Mary and Eric are both huge music fans, and they own a record player. They also instilled in Finn a deep appreciation for music since he was a child, especially classic albums.
Finn's parents also instilled in him their love for movies. Finn said his mom and dad said he looked like the late actor John Cassavetes' character from the classic film "Rosemary's Baby."
Eric bought Finn "John Cassavetes: Five Films" from The Criterion Collection for Christmas and his birthday, which consisted of all of the late movie star's successful films.
Finn is grateful to his parents for encouraging him to pursue his passions for music and acting. He paid tribute to his parents in a lengthy Instagram tribute, in which he wrote:
"I honestly could not have made it without you - and now let's all go do good things."
Finn's Mother, Mary Jolivet, Maintains Her Privacy
Unlike her husband and Finn's brother, Mary keeps a low profile. Even though Mary keeps most of her life under wraps, Finn has given fans a glimpse of who his mother is.
Nick Wolfhard, Finn's older brother, is a successful voice actor.
Mary, a former designer for the children's clothing company Dormouse, has devoted her time to her sons' careers. Finn adores his mom, and he proved it with a heartwarming Instagram post in honor of Mother's Day.
Mary's late great-grandaunt, Rita Jolivet, whose real name was Marguerite Lucile Jolivet, was a silent film actress who worked from 1914 to 1926 and appeared in 20 films.
Finn's Father, Eric Wolfhard, Was a Lawyer
Eric was a lawyer who went to the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and got a law degree. He then studied copyright law at HarvardX, a distance learning and online school connected to Harvard University.
In addition to his work as a producer, Eric is a researcher on indigenous land boundaries and other aboriginal land issues. Finn said that his father taught him about the history and challenges of indigenous communities.
Eric also appears to be a big fan of the classic "Ghostbusters." When Finn was cast in the latest "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" film, Eric noted the movie was a big part of his younger days.
