John Bon Jovi, frontman of the rock band Bon Jovi, recently celebrated the big news of his son Jacob' Bongiovi's engagement.
His 20-year-old son had proposed to his 19-year-old girlfriend, Millie Bobby Brown, and the musician opened up about this big step at his son's young age.
Bongiovi and Brown commemorated the big news with separate Instagram posts. Brown shared a photo of her fiancé hugging her from behind, and a diamond visible on her finger. She borrowed a line from Taylor Swift's song "Lover," to caption the post, writing, "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all."

Bongiovi shared a similar picture but taken from a different angle. This time, the couple was looking at the ocean, and the young man captioned it, "Forever."

Bongiovi was born in 2002 and attended Pennington High School in New Jersey. He started his freshman year at Syracuse University in 2020, but it's unknown whether he is still in college
On the other hand, his fiancée is known for her role in the hit series "Stranger Things." The couple started showing hints of romance in 2021 when Bongiovi shared a photo of them and captioned it, "Bff."
Brown made their relationship Instagram official when she shared a picture of them kissing on the London Eye. From there, the couple got more serious, with Brown referring to Bongiovi as her "partner for life." In early 2022, the actress shared images from her year's highlights.
These included photos with her friends, family, pets, and boyfriend. One of the snaps was of Brown and Bongiovi kissing, another showed them hugging in a car, and a third in the snow on New Year's Eve.
The "Stranger Things" star complemented the pictures with the sweet caption, "Endlessly in love with the year I've had! Grateful for my friends, family, donkey (Bernard), my doggies, my puppies teeth, and my partner for life."

The young couple is excited to enter a new chapter in their lives, but fans greatly criticized their engagement announcement.
Jake Bongiovi Was Criticized for Proposing to His Girlfriend Too Early
When Brown shared her engagement photos, some fans met the news with a bit of angst. One fan said they were not hating on their genuine connection but felt 19 was too young to get engaged.
The Instagram user continued to express that the two had been dating for three years, pointing out that they started their relationship when Brown was a minor and Jacob was an adult. However, the person still admitted it was the couple's choice and congratulated them on their new venture together. The same sentiments followed from another netizen, who expressed:
"No hate, but isn't she too young to be engaged? Like she's only 19."

Meanwhile, others wondered what Bongiovi's father thought about the engagement. It didn't take long before the famous singer gave his two cents worth.

Bon Jovi recently dropped by "Radio Andy," hosted by Andy Cohen, and he was congratulated for the good news of his son's engagement. The proud father happily expressed that three of his four children were now engaged.
Reminding Bon Jovi that he and his wife, Dorothea, had been together since high school, but they only tied the knot in 1989 when the rockstar was 27, Cohen asked how he felt about his son's recent engagement.

Bon Jovi revealed he was entirely on board. "I don't know if age matters, you know, if you find the right partner and you grow together; my advice really is growing together is wise. And so I think all my kids have found the people they think they can grow with, and we like them all," the father expressed.
As a father, he believed his children needed to find a partner they could build a life with, and luckily most of them have.
He also spoke fondly of Brown and her family. "Millie is wonderful. Her whole family is great. Jake is very happy," he said. He also mentioned watching his future daughter-in-law in "Stranger Things."
Bon Jovi has been a supportive and loving father since he welcomed his first daughter, Stephanie, in 1993. The musician even made a song about her called "I've Got the Girl."
Stephanie joined her father on stage when she was seven as a special father-daughter moment, and again in 2017 when he performed the song in Las Vegas. The singer said the song is for everyone with a special girl, whether a daughter, a girlfriend, or a mother.
But in 2012, the family got quite a scare when Stephanie was hospitalized due to an opioid overdose in college. Her father said he was confident his daughter would be fine, especially because she was surrounded by people who loved her. Stephanie now works as a camera operator on many TV shows.
The second born, Jess, arrived in 1995. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where his father played football and studied Political Science.
The father and son started a rosé company, Hampton Water, in 2018, which became a huge success and was named the best wine in 2018 by Wine Spectator.
Bon Jovi expressed how proud he was to be working with his son. He said Jess had proven to be a mini him, so much so that they exchange the same ideas when they go into meetings. The entrepreneur proposed to his girlfriend of four years in 2022 in East Hampton, surrounded by family.
Romeo is the last born, and he arrived in 2004. He leads the most private life in the family, but once in a while, his father would share a picture of him as he did on his 17th birthday.
The 19-year-old might be more low-key than his siblings, but he had appeared at a few events with his father, including a black-tie party in Kensington and when Bon Jovi was included on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Bon Jovi and his wife love their children and have enjoyed raising them. Still, the couple admitted they look forward to an empty nest and indulging in a carefree life of traveling together.
