The celebrity sent a heartfelt message to his fans and followers. On April 12, 2023, Jamie's daughter, Corinne Foxx, then 29, initially shared what was happening to her father in a social media message which she revealed was from the Foxx family.
In it, she noted how her father had experienced a "medical complication" the previous day; however, the good news was that he was now "in recovery." She said the care and fast dealing with the situation led to him getting to work on his healing.

Jamie's hospitalization happened in Georgia, but almost three weeks since he was still in the hospital; however, it was said he was alert and awake. It was revealed that doctors weren't sure what happened to the actor but were running tests.
Those close to the star asked his fans to continue praying for him. Nick Cannon also contacted his fans, asking them to speak "words of affirmation" over Corinne's father as he continued healing.
Jamie was working on the new movie, "Back in Action," starring alongside Cameron Diaz before he was admitted. Sadly, a body double filled in to shoot his scenes with the actress since he was still hospitalized.

The musician wished the star all the best from God and a quick recovery. A fourth person revealed that Corinne's father was their "favorite actor" before praying to God to "heal and fix" what he could in the celebrity.
Luckily for Jamie, he didn't have to go through his medical issue alone, as he had the support and love of his daughters. His past girlfriends and the mother of his children were also hopefully around to keep him going.
Who Are Jamie's Children, Their Mothers, and the Women He Once Dated?
On February 15, 1994, Jamie became a first-time father when he and his now ex-girlfriend, Connie Kline, welcomed Corinne. The "Soul" actor had his second daughter, Anelise Bishop, on October 3, 2008, with his other ex, Kristin Grannis.

In 2017, the actor confessed that raising his children in Hollywood could get "crazy" but noted how Corinne, then 23, had managed to graduate from college. He recalled how great it was to see his oldest daughter reach that magnificent milestone.
Jamie admitted that it was incredible to see his children growing up, and he was equally proud of them as they'd become decent people. He said his favorite part of being a father was hearing his children call him "dad."

The actor and musician loved seeing the duo light up when he entered a room. He enjoyed assisting them when they had problems he'd passed through before but struggled with some daily anxiety as he hoped they were fine.
Luckily for him, his most significant accomplishment was that he was so well-bonded with his daughters that they told him anything and could talk to him openly! Corinne and Anelise also passionately supported their father.
Jamie's oldest daughter went to Sierra Canyon School before graduating from the University of Southern California after studying public relations. She followed in her father's footsteps by studying for her new career at Howard Fine Acting Studio and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Corinne's since starred in "Dollface," "47 Meters Down: Uncaged, Safety," and co-hosted "Beat Shazam" alongside her father. In 2014, she made her modeling debut, and two years later, she appeared in the Yeezy show at New York Fashion Week.
For 2017's Sherri Hill Fashion Show, she walked the runway; the year before, she was Miss Golden Globe. In 2020, Anelise's sister won the Creative Arts Emmy Award for "Live in Front of a Studio Audience: 'Good Times.'"
When she wasn't focusing on her career, she accompanied her father to red-carpet events and movie premieres. In 2021, the actor's daughter got to work as the executive producer for "Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!"
Corinnes's younger half-sister shared their father's love for music and learned to play the piano. In 2022, Jamie took Anelise to a private Dallas concert where she got to play while he sang his song, "In Love By Now."
The teenager also loved sports and could play basketball quite well! She also did well in football, where she played with boys, and was a young activist who got to go to a George Floyd protest with "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" star.
Like her older sister, Anelise also attended high-profile events alongside her father, like 2020's Screen Actors Guild Awards. Besides the mothers of his children, Jamie also once dated Katie Holmes.
On August 25, 2013, the duo was first linked when seen dancing together at an East Hampton dinner party, but they only confirmed it on March 17, 2015. After spending years dodging the paparazzi and making debuts as a couple here and there, the couple separated in August 2019.

While Jamie has had many joyous moments, he's also faced several heartbreaks and losses. The actor was abandoned and rejected by his mother and lost his sister.
Jamie's Trials and Tribulations
When Jamie was just seven-months-old, his mother, Louise Annette Talley Dixon, abandoned him only to be raised by his grandparents. His father, Darrell Bishop, had separated from his mother before he turned one.

His grandmother, Estelle Marie Talley, adopted him when she took him in despite not being Louise's biological mother. She gave him love and helped him grow into a well-rounded person.
Despite the abandonment, the actor always tried to reconcile with his parents. However, it was revealed that his mother didn't ask him for anything, but Jamie wished she would, and when he once went to visit her with cameras in toe, she didn't open the door due to not wanting to answer difficult questions.
In 2005, the singer said he and Louise didn't speak, but three years later, that changed. While on "The Graham Norton Show" in 2020, Jamie shared how he'd always sent his mother tickets on Christmas with an open invitation for her to visit, and she finally accepted.
When he was sixteen, Jamie [Foxx] found love with his half-sister, DeOndra Dixon...
They enjoyed the holiday and New Year's, but she was still there by February and never left! The star confessed that the change was challenging but "powerful" as his father lived with him in the same house!
The trio was learning more about each other, and Corinne's father was starting to understand how his upbringing affected him. Speaking about his grandmother, the actor described her as his "crew" and revealed she told him that making music was how he would earn money when he was five playing the piano.
Estelle was why he won a scholarship to the US International University to study classical piano. Sadly, she died in 2004 at age 95 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, her loss devastated him, and he couldn't even do her eulogy, leading to his 2019 Instagram post where he wrote:
"My rock... Miss u always... #iwishyouwerehere happy birthday."
When he was sixteen, Jamie found love with his half-sister, DeOndra Dixon, who Louise and George Dixon shared. Jamie credited her for his learning to live as she brought him back down to what life was.
Sadly, in 2020, she died at age 36, causing him to announce the heartbreaking news on Instagram with several throwback pictures of their happier days. Jamie said she'd left a hole in his heart that he'd fill with the memories she gave him and vowed to pull together with the love she'd left.
