- Heather Locklear is a proud mom. She shared good news about her daughter, with whom she has always been close.
- Heather found peace following several arrests, addictions, and other problems.
Television actress Heather Locklear recently showed how proud she is of her only daughter's academic achievements.
The mother of one posted a clip on her Instagram page showing the invitation to her child Ava Locklear's graduation. The invitation revealed the 25-year-old would graduate from the University of Southern California with a Master's degree.
It appears Ava studied "Marriage and Family Therapy," and her elated mother noted how she could help other people. Heather, who shares her child with musician, Richie Sambora, penned in her caption:
"Thank you all for the likes. I did nothing for this therapist. She's a jewel. I hope she can help anyone who is struggling. I've been there."
Ava also posted a snapshot of herself on her Instagram page wearing a white top underneath with a matching white blazer. In the photo, she posed while smiling and holding a bouquet.
Ava has been described as stunning by her mother's fans on social media. In a July 2020 post, Heather shared a picture of her daughter posing while holding tulips with her long blonde hair in a ponytail.
"Look who I have at home," the "Melrose Place" alum captioned her post then. Her followers commented on the said post noting Ava's beauty.
"A beautiful young woman!" remarked one social media user. While another person wrote, "Sooo beautiful like you, Heather!!"
Heather Is in a Great Place after Ups & Downs
Besides being a mom, Heather has had a thriving Hollywood career spanning over thirty years. She has appeared in popular shows such as "Spin City" and "Dynasty," among others.
However, her career has been marred by her personal life troubles over the years. In 2012, she was hospitalized after a relative dialed 911, reporting she had been threatening to take her own life.

A week later, Heather was arrested for battery of a law enforcement officer. Both these incidents occurred four months following her arrest on suspicion of domestic battery.
In addition, all the abovementioned circumstances follow years of Heather's turbulent life. She was admitted to rehab multiple times due to her addictions and endured a lengthy battle with depression and anxiety.

In May 2020, Heather celebrated one year of sobriety and shared the milestone on her social media. The four-time Golden Globe nominee posted a quote attributed to the late Maya Angelou that reads: "Hugs will come later! One year sober today!!!"
A pal revealed at the time that she was doing well and looked good, adding the most important thing was that she was "in a great place." The friend also disclosed what Heather got up to:
"She is gardening and taking walks, walks and cooking like a fiend. She cooks for herself and Ava, and she cooks for her parents."
"She is passionately getting into cooking. It's very sweet, her dad is close to 91, and her mom is in her 80s, and she delivers food to them often. [..] She's strong and clear-headed, and she's thoughtful about others," the source added.
Still, in May 2019, Heather was said to be living in an in-patient facility and had sobered up three months later, only to return to rehab. Despite the back and forth in and out of facilities, an insider revealed she still maintains a "loving and supportive relationship" with her daughter.
Heather's Daughter Is Close to Her despite Her Addictions
Throughout the years of ups and downs, Heather has remained close to Ava. She has also had a good support system from her and her former husband, Sambora.
"Richie and Ava are giving her a lot of support," a friend revealed in April 2020. That same month, the Los Angeles native posted a clip of her daughter and their dog, writing: "I'm in love with these 2 plus 1."
Apart from her loved ones, Heather has also been leaning on her friends for support amid her struggles – who have revealed that she has made progress over time.
"It's really amazing to see how she managed to turn things around. Heather is always happiest when she is with her daughter," a source once divulged.
