Fans have come to know and love Jaren Lewison for playing Ben Gross in "Never Have I Ever," whose final season premieres on June 8, 2023. For four seasons, he and costar Maitreyi Ramakrishnan—who plays Devi Vishwakumar—have had viewers on the edge of their seats as the onscreen love interests played will-they-or-won't-they.

While he's yet to share details about his love life, the actor opened up about his professional life, specifically how he received the news about his role in "Never Have I Ever." Lewison said:

"I got the call from my acting coach back in Dallas, and my agent and manager hopped on the call and said, 'You did it; you're Ben Gross.' I just started crying, and all my friends jumped on me, and we popped some sparkling cider and celebrated all day."

On April 13, 2023, the actor took to Instagram to post the highly-anticipated finale of "Never Have I Ever," which left viewers with a cliffhanger in the previous season. And according to Lewison, the surprises teased in the final season's trailer did not only shock fans but also him. "I absolutely geeked out. I was like, 'Oh, my God,'" he said.

In "Never Have I Ever," Lewison's character's love life is a lot busier than his. In the third season, following Ben's love triangle with Devi and Paxton, played by Darren Barnet, Ben moves on with Aneesa, played by Megan Suri.

However, as Aneesa explores her sexuality, Ben finds himself single. But that doesn't last long, as the spark between him and Devi is reignited. "I love that it's bumpy," Lewison said.

Lewison and Ramakrishnan find themselves filming steamy scenes in the TV show—co-created by Mindy Kaling. However, the actor revealed that the two costars could laugh and be comfortable with each other in those moments. He shared:

"What's crazy is during a lot of the romantic scenes, it's so light. We're just laughing and having fun and enjoying it because we're both so comfortable with each other, and we have such a great intimacy coordinator on set."

And according to Lewison, his chemistry with Ramakrishnan is strong both on and offscreen. During an interview, the actor praised his costar for her natural leadership qualities, talent, and kindness. "I learn something from her every time," Lewison said.

In November 2020, Lewison shared a picture of them holding a cake on Instagram as they got together to spend Friendsgiving. In his caption, he revealed that he had baked the cake while she decorated it.
