Marta Krupa Started Modeling at 17 – Facts about Marco Andretti's Wife
While she is commonly known as race car driver Marco Andretti's wife and "The Real Housewives of Miami" alumni Joanna Krupa's sister, Marta Krupa has also made a name for herself as a model, actress, singer, and songwriter.
Following her background in sports, Marta Krupa was a teenager when she decided to ditch the sports field for the runway and follow in her famous sister's footsteps when she pursued a career as a model.
She later found love with Marco Andretti, and after celebrating their engagement in 2016, Marta Krupa and the race car driver took their time before making it to the altar and officially tying the knot in 2017.
Marta Krupa Is of Polish Origin
Marta was a little girl when her family relocated from Poland to the United States. While her sister already knew what she wanted to be growing up, Marta only started modeling a few years later. She said:
"I started modeling when I was 17. My sister always knew that she wanted to be a model since she was 13, and I was still trying to figure it out... but when I was getting older and developing more into a woman, I realized I should give modeling a shot."
Aside from posing for the camera, Marta—who revealed she draws her beauty inspiration from Jessica Alba— has also acted in front of the camera and played Alexandra in "You Can't Have It." The actress also appeared in one "Model Dating: Hawaii" episode and three "Mind of a Model" episodes in 2008.
Marta Krupa and Marco Andretti's Love Story
Marta and Marco were living in Miami when they met in 2008, and after a year of dating, he said, "... I wouldn't be in a relationship for a year if I didn't think it had a future." By February 2016, he had proposed to her and took to Instagram to document the special moment.
Being a professional race car driver, Marco needed to work out his racing schedule before they could fix a wedding date, so the couple had to put a hold on their wedding plans. "We want to do this casually, not rush into it," he revealed.
After over 18 months of waiting, they officially became Mr. and Mrs. Andretti in September 2017. The race car driver took to Instagram to share their wedding day with fans, and in the photo, the newlyweds smiled as Marta wowed in a sleeveless wedding dress and veil.
Marta Krupa's Relationship with Her Sister
Aside from being one of the stars of "The Real Housewives of Miami," executive produced by Andy Cohen, Marta's sister is a decorated supermodel who has appeared on over 100 magazine covers.
The Polish siblings bonded over their modeling careers, and during an interview, Joanna revealed that while the sisters were separated due to Marta relocating to Los Angeles to be with Marco, they still shared a "great" bond.
However, their relationship took a hit following Marta's falling out with Joanna's husband and Marta distancing herself from Joanna's show and castmates while her sister was planning to get married. Fortunately, the sisters were able to patch things up as Marta's sister revealed, "...we are definitely in a better place now."
