Carmen Ejogo's Husband: The Actress Was Married Twice within Two Decades
Film star Carmen Ejogo has been married twice, and both her unions ended in divorce. The singer, who has been involved with famous men, is also a mother of two children.
Carmen Ejogo is a British actress whose first marriage was relatively short-lived, but her second marriage lasted longer, and her former husbands are stars in their own right.
However, following the dissolution of her second marriage, the "Self Made" star never remarried but remained a caring parent to her two children.
When asked during a June 2016 interview whether she would ever get married again, Ejogo admitted that she could not tell because the future is unpredictable. She said:
"I don’t know, maybe. Never say never."
Carmen Ejogo's First Marriage to Tricky Was Short-Lived – Who Is Tricky?
Carmen Ejogo, who was once spotted with comedian Chris Rock, was married in 1998 to famed British record producer, Tricky, whose real name is Adrian Matthew Thaws. She was 25 years old at the time.
However, the star and the United Kingdom rapper's short marriage ended that year. Afterward, he started a relationship with Martina Topley-Bird, with whom he had a daughter named Mina. Sadly, his daughter died by suicide in May 2019.
While Ejogo is a bonafide Hollywood star based in the United States, Tricky is a trip-hop pioneer who launched his music career as a band member of the Bristol icons, Massive Attack.
The "Teardrop" hitmaker, known for his raspy vocals, went solo and released his debut single, "Aftermath." During that period, he met teenage vocalist Topley-Bird, and together, they became formidable collaborators. Like his former wife, Tricky is also an actor.
Carmen Ejogo's Second Marriage Was with Actor Jeffrey Wright
While her first marriage did not work out, Ejogo did not give up on love. After relocating to the US, she met her second husband, Jeffrey Wright, nine years older than her.
Wright is a Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor best known for his role of Belize in the Broadway production and HBO miniseries, "Angels in America." He also stars alongside Judi Dench as CIA Agent Felix Leiter in the "James Bond" franchise.

He was born and bred in Washington, DC, and graduated from Amherst College in 1987. Initially, Wright studied Political Science but decided to pursue acting after developing a passion for it.
He and Ejogo crossed paths on the set of "Boycott," a civil rights television drama wherein he portrayed Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King. They lived in Atlanta and could not stay in one place.
Ejogo revealed in a September 2009 interview that they traveled for quite some time before settling down. The couple tied the knot in 2000 and decided to settle in Brooklyn. They also started a family, and the actress became a stay-at-home mom.

Carmen Ejogo & Wright's Divorce – The Pair Share Two Kids
Ejogo and Wright welcomed two kids while married. Their eldest child is their son, Elijah, and their youngest is their daughter, Juno. However, after over a decade of matrimony, the couple parted ways, and their divorce was finalized in 2014.
Several years later, in a March 2020 interview, Wright spoke about custody of their children. The father of two explained: "Their mom [actress Carmen Ejogo] and I divorced about five years ago, but we have 50/50 joint custody. At the same time, we both work fluid schedules, so we're very flexible in trying to frame them so when one is away working, the other is at home."
Wright often posts photos featuring him and his kids on his Instagram. In a September 2018 post, he shared a picture of him and his daughter dressed up as they smiled for the snap.
"Pre-#Emmys sunshine," he captioned the post, which showed him donning a black tux and Juno rocking a pink floral dress which she paired with studs and gold pumps.
The proud parent gushed about his daughter in a January 2020 post, wherein she shared a throwback image of him and Juno as a baby. He wrote:
"#girldad – not sure who's learned more from the other. (And yeah, #boydad, too)."
The star's former wife also posted their only son Elijah in October 2022. The youngster was celebrating his 21st birthday, and his famous mother paid tribute to him.
Ejogo posted a picture of her and her son beaming and captioned it: "21. Today. Soooooo proud of the young man you've become @elijahewright can't wait for you to drop your album x #HappyBirthday Beautiful!! #twentyone"
