Despite her mother's musical background and her father's success as a singer, Story Asaundra Lumpkin chose a life away from the limelight. Instead, she went into business with her mother and shared glimpses of her life on social media.

Ginuwine, born Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, has not only had a successful career, he is also a father. He welcomed two daughters from his marriage to Aja "Solé" Shah, with his eldest daughter from their union being Story Asaundra Lumpkin.

Despite having a Billboard Award Winning Hip-Hop artist for a mom and a legendary musician for a dad, Story Asaundra Lumpkin has led a "normal" life. And her famous father has turned to Instagram to document their close relationship.

Story Asaundra Lumpkin Had a 'Normal' Childhood Despite Her Parents' Fame

Aja and Ginuwine welcomed their first child in March 2001. However, following the success of his '90s hits "Pony" and "So Anxious," Story's father was on the road a lot.

But after meeting multiple women who told him they grew up without a present father, Ginuwine decided to take a break from music and focus on raising his family. "I have to make time for my kids," he said.

According to a source, Story and her sister had "one hundred percent normal" lives. Their father picked them up and dropped them off at school, chauffeured them to dance and piano lessons, and attended church on Sundays. The source added, "They're really good people. It's sad they're not working out."

In 2014, when Story was 13, her father's lawyer revealed that the "Pony" singer was financially strained due to multiple legal matters, including his divorce. Once the news broke that Ginuwine and Aja were no longer together, the singer set the record straight on Instagram.

He revealed that he and Aja were not divorced yet but were separated. He added that they were trying to work out their divorce agreements without lawyers amicably and that their marriage ended due to bad decisions on his part over the years.

Even though Story was young when her parents separated, she still shares a close relationship with them. In March, her mother turned to Instagram to celebrate Story's 22nd and revealed in part:

"Every time one of my daughters' birthdays comes around, I'm reminded of how deeply blessed I am 🌹❤️🌹 @storyasaundra words can't describe how much I love you and how grateful I am that the Divine entrusted you to my care. You are AMAZING in every way, and I couldn't be more proud to be your mother[...]."

In 2019, Ginuwine took to Instagram to celebrate Story's 18th birthday and gushed about how proud he was of his "baby girl." Like his ex-wife, the singer praised Story for being an "amazing" daughter and complimented her "beautiful soul."

She has worked as a customer service representative at her mother's shop, Devi Tribe Wellness, for over three years. Devi Tribe sells various medical herbs and "potions" and offers private sessions and classes.

And in her spare time, Story enjoys dancing. In 2020, she turned to Instagram to share a clip of herself practicing a dance sequence, proving she had not forgotten the dance lessons she took as a child.
