Ozzy Osbourne Bought Sharon a Tiffany Ring Every Time They Fought — He Would 'Be Dead' If Not for Her
- Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne are celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary!
- The couple first met when Sharon worked in the office of her dad, who once managed Ozzy Osbourne's career.
- Forty-one years later, the couple reveals Ozzy bought Sharon a Tiffany ring or necklace each time they fought.
When Sharon met Ozzy Osbourne at 18, it was not love at first sight, as many would have imagined. She was a young woman working as a receptionist for her dad, London music executive Don Arden.
At the time, Arden had just signed Ozzy's heavy-metal band, Black Sabbath. The rock star instantly noticed Sharon, describing her as intelligent and classy.
Sharon also noticed Ozzy right away, but not for the same reasons. Speaking about her first impression of the man who would one day be her husband, she said:
"Ozzy walked into my father's office without shoes, with a water faucet dangling from his neck, and sat on the floor. I was terrified!"
Sharon thought Ozzy and his bandmates were "all odd and hairy," and she couldn't imagine ever falling in love with one of them. Little did she know, she had already met her life-long partner at such a young age.
Ozzy Bought Sharon Plenty of Rings
In 1981, Ozzy left his first wife, Thelma, to be with Sharon. They got married a year later after several fights.
Sharon once revealed that they had five engagement rings throughout that time. Each time Ozzy proposed, they would fight, and she would throw the rock out the window.
She finally accepted his proposal after spending two days searching a hotel's gardens for a diamond worth $10,000. After a falling out with her father, Sharon began managing Ozzy's career, and she drowned herself in work.
Sharon and Ozzy have three children: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. People have seen them on screen, thanks to their reality TV shows.
Despite being together for 41 years, Ozzy and Sharon have gone through a lot of issues through the years. Each time they would fight, Sharon described it as physical.
They would throw plates, toss around their furniture, hit, and kick. Ozzy would then leave the house each time, head to Tiffany's, and buy Sharon jewelry.
"After a big, crazy fight, I go out and buy her a diamond ring or a necklace," he once shared. Sharon agreed, saying her rockstar husband is a beloved client at the famous jeweler.
Sharon and Ozzy's fights led to a split in May 2016, when Ozzy's cheating rumors surfaced. The well-publicized break didn't last long, as they got back together four months later.
At the time, Sharon said that she was forgiving, but her trust had been shattered by what happened. However, she admitted that she couldn't imagine her life without Ozzy.
When they reconciled, Ozzy gifted Sharon a new wedding ring to symbolize his vow to become a better person. It was Ozzy's determination to become better each day that prompted Sharon to work on their marriage.
Ozzy Credits Long Life to His Wife
Aside from Ozzy's struggles with addiction and the cheating rumors that rocked their marriage, he also had several health scares through the years. In 2003, he had a neck injury following a quad-biking accident and another terrible fall in 2017.
Ozzy was also diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, making things more complicated for the rock star. By 2022, he needed to undergo "life-altering" surgery for his injuries to make things easier for him.
Canceling his 2023 tour marked [Ozzy's] retirement from music to focus on his recovery once and for all.
Through it all, Ozzy had his wife Sharon supporting him. "If it wasn't for Sharon, I'd be dead," he once admitted.
After decades of excessive substance abuse, Ozzy has been sober for a decade this 2023 in hopes of improving his overall health. Due to health concerns, he recently canceled his UK and Europe tour.
Canceling his tour marked his retirement from music to focus on his recovery once and for all. It was a heartbreaking time for the Osbourne family, who circled their life around Ozzy's music career for decades.
When Osbourne bowed out of his tour, he had been a musician for 56 years. His last full concert was at the Ozzfest 2018 New Year's Eve Bash at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
Now, Ozzy and Sharon devote their time to their family. They are proud grandparents to several young ones and remain close to all their children.
Through it all, Ozzy is glad to have Sharon by his side for the rest of his life. "I believe you only have one real love in your life. I'm still in love with my wife. That's the main thing," he once said.
Sharon shares the same feeling of love for her husband. She proudly calls him "my best friend, the love of my life, my everything."
The Osbournes are focused on making the most out of their lives together as a family. Ozzy now focuses on his recovery, with his family supporting him every step of the way.
