'Dallas’ Star Audrey Landers Turns 67 in a 34-Year Marriage She Describes as ‘Not for Everyone’
- Afton Cooper, aka Audrey Landers from the popular series "Dallas," recently celebrated her 67th birthday. Fans congratulated the star, who wore a bright pink outfit on the special day.
- Nowadays, the Hollywood actress is focused on her family life.
- She celebrated her milestone amid being married to her beloved husband for 34 years. Landers also admitted that her marriage is "not for everyone."
Audrey Landers started her acting career fairly early on in her life. The Hollywood actress began working in the entertainment industry while she was still a university student at Columbia University's Barnard College, studying psychology. During school breaks, she would then guest star on widely cherished 70s sitcoms such as "Happy Days," "Fantasy Island," "The Love Boat," and "The Dukes of Hazzard."
Not long after garnering a reputation from her guest appearances, she landed her primetime role as Afton Cooper on the remarkably popular drama "Dallas." Landers starred in the series for eight years and is primarily recognized by her fanbase from the TV show.

Last year, Landers sat down with Fox News for an interview and was asked about her time on "Dallas." According to the blonde beauty, the show's network had auditioned a plethora of girls for her role, and so she expressed that she was lucky enough to even get an audition in the first place. Additionally, the part had initially been proposed for only two episodes.
Wanting to do her audition justice and get a feel of the acting tone required for the role of Afton Cooper, Landers asked some of her friends to videotape "Dallas" episodes for her to watch. After watching the tapes and locating a costume to wear, Landers was ready for her audition. Amongst all the hopeful actresses, Landers got a callback and was chosen for the role.

After enduring some minor setbacks and delays with the start of production due to a brief writer's strike, Landers started her first day on set. Due to her incredible talents as not just an actress but a singer too, the show's execs reworked her character to include her singing abilities on the show. They discovered her talent when she decided to play and sing at a piano in the studio when she thought no one else was around.
When speaking on the relationship she shared with her co-stars and the production team, the "A Chorus Line" star had nothing but great things to say. She spoke of the entire cast's close bond and supportive ways while they starred on the show that was number one on the air for several years.
During her time on the hit show, Landers grew extremely popular and became a star in high demand. In between her filming projects, when production would be on break, she had the opportunity to travel across Europe for appearances and concerts.
