Although many believed Brian Wayne Foster would become Ashley Johnson's husband, the couple's relationship has ended on a worrisome note. The couple, who both work in entertainment, were rumored to be engaged in 2018.

In December 2018, photos of Ashley Johnson and Brian Wayne Foster surfaced online, showing the former couple enjoying a romantic dinner outdoors. The two appeared celebratory, as the pictures showed them embracing and clinking champagne-filled glasses.

Others showed them in silly couple's poses, but one notably hinted at the cause of the celebration. It depicted Brian Wayne Foster and Ashley Johnson sitting with their backs to each other, with their fists bumping close to the lens.

A ring sat on Johnson's fist, and the photo went viral. Fans immediately assumed Foster and Johnson were engaged. One post on Amino said, "If you didn't know, Ashley and Brian have been dating since before the 1st Campaign stream. And now they're getting married."

The excitement spilled over on Twitter, as one user wrote, "brian is living the dream because not only is he engaged to ashley johnson but before they even met she read his book and thought he was a great writer. (sic)."

Foster and Johnson never addressed the engagement rumors. The two remained together in the following years; however, their relationship slowly faded and unfortunately ended with a restraining order.

Ashley Johnson's Ex-partner, Brian Wayne Foster, Is a Renowned Host and Writer

Foster was born in November 1982 in Long Beach, California. He released his first book, the poetry anthology "Blackened White," in 2012, which became an Amazon bestseller. He went on to join film and television, writing and producing his first show, "Talks Machina," in 2016.

The following year, he appeared as an actor on the role-playing show, "Critical Role," alongside Johnson. In 2018, he created another hit talk show, "Between the Sheets," before executive-producing the Western horror mini-series "UnDeadwood" in 2019.

Ashley Johnson and Brian Wayne Foster Dated for over a Decade

Johnson and Foster's romance began sometime in 2012. The former couple never spoke publicly about their relationship, but they frequently showered one another with affection on social media.

Months before their engagement rumors, they celebrated their sixth couple's anniversary. Johnson shared a carousel of videos showing her adventures with Foster, glimpses of their home life, and a list of the things she loved about him and their relationship.

Ashley Johnson Filed a Restraining Order against Brian Wayne Foster

Johnson and Foster are said to have parted ways in March 2023. Months later, however, she filed for a restraining order against her former partner. The news broke in May, with Johnson accusing Foster of being a dangerous threat to her and her family.

In addition to claiming that he attempted to extort $150,000 from her, the actress filed the order due to Foster's alleged history of verbal abuse, and she accused him of having an unhinged mind due to his substance abuse.

Sources also claim she had been trying to leave the relationship for two and a half years. Support from fans poured on social media as they hoped she would find peace and healing amid her troubles.

They hoped she saw the support coming in worldwide. Others asked fans to donate to the Critical Role Foundation, where she resides as president, as this would uplift her spirit. Since separating from Foster, Johnson removed nearly all posts that featured him on her Instagram.

She has kept busy, most recently appearing on "The Last of Us," with Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Anna Torv, and Merle Dandridge. Johnson also starred in "Candela Obscura" with Laura Bailey and Matthew Mercer.
