Mrs Goodman from ‘All My Children’ Died in Her House: ‘You Are Free Now Pammie’

Pamela Blair, an actress who started her career as a Broadway performer, has died. Her death touched many of her friends, including one of her co-stars from "A Chorus Line," Baayork Lee.
In a Facebook post Lee shared, she said she and Blair shared a birthday and would always write to each other on the day.

She remembered her amazing stage performances and described her as "a colorful character." "I am very sad to say my Sagittarian sister Pam Blair has gone to play with her ACL Colleagues among the clouds," she wrote, adding:
"You are free now, Pammie, so dance, dance, dance among the stars."
Blair died at 73 in her home in Phoenix, Arizona, after battling a long illness. The official Twitter account of the "A Chorus Line" composer Marvin Hamlisch also paid tribute to the actress. "We are saddened to hear that Pamela Blair, the original "Val" in A Chorus Line, has passed away," the post stated.

She will forever be remembered for the work she put into her character Val in "A Chorus Line," which was reportedly inspired by her personal life. "Our thoughts are with her loved ones and fans." continued the statement.
All about Pamela Blair's Life
Blair was born December 5, 1949, in Bennington, Vermont, United States. She grew up in the small town of Tonka, where she studied dance and loved to play sports.

The actress moved to New York when she was 16 to study at the private school The National Academy of Ballet and continued to study acting at the HB Studio in New York.
Blair landed her first acting role through a friend she met during a dance class who told her Michael Bennett was looking for dancers for "Promises, Promises." She made her first debut on the show in 1968.
From there, the Broadway star landed another big role as the only female in 1974's "Of Mice and Men," where she played Curley's wife. She eventually started taking more control of her career and originated her famous character Valerie also known as Val.
Blair worked hard developing the character through the musical's workshops and eventually hit the ground running.
She was recognized with an award for her solo performance in the Broadway show "Dance: Ten, Looks Three," which was about the character's love for plastic surgery. Besides being loved for her Broadway performances, Blair also starred in several TV shows.
She was loved as Mrs. Goodman in "All My Children" as well as for her roles in "Loving," "Another World," and "Ryan's Hope."The singer also appeared in films such as "Annie" and "21 Grams," with her many parts in soap operas earning her a Daytime Emmy award.
But outside of her acting and accolades, there was a lot of interest in her love life. The actress reportedly died single but had been married before.
Blair tied the knot with actor and film director Don Scardino, and they stayed together for seven years before going their separate ways in 1991. Scardino is known for his work in "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone," "30 Rock," and "2 Broke Girls."

As for children, the actress was not known to have any. However, Blair will be remembered for pouring her heart out both on stage and TV.
