Dillon Carmichael's Wife, Shayla, Is a Hotel Sales Manager Who Studied at the University of Kentucky

When Dillon Carmicheal saw the woman that would become his wife amid a large crowd while onstage, the country crooner thought he was looking at an angel. He shyly approached her, onsetting what has now become marital bliss.

In October 2022, Dillon Carmichael married the love of his life, Shayla Witson. The couple's nuptials occurred during an afternoon ceremony in Frankfurt, Kentucky, surrounded by friends and family.

Whitson donned a stunning white gown with a large round tail. With her blonde hair styled in large curls and parted midway, a lengthy veil with lace detail around the hem rested on her crown, trailing behind her as she enjoyed her big day.

Her husband looked handsome in a black tuxedo. Following the ceremony, the couple returned to Austin City Saloon, where they first met, for an extended reception. They enjoyed a weeklong honeymoon in Costa Rica afterward and have been living in marital bliss ever since.

Whitson graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism from the University of Kentucky in 2018. She celebrated her achievement on Instagram, sharing a few photos from her graduation day that May.

The first picture shows her smiling as she sits cross-legged, wearing a blue graduation gown and white sash draped around her neck. The second shows her happily high-fiving her friend, another graduate, on a staircase.

"Highly recommend graduating in 3 years," she wrote alongside the celebratory photos. Following graduation, Whitson developed much experience in sales management at several companies, particularly at 21c Museum Hotel in Nashville. She recently moved to The Bankers Alley Hotel as a Senior Sales Manager.

Carmichel and Whitson met in December 2017 during one of Carmichael's shows at Austin City Saloon. He noticed her among the crowd and was immediately enamored with her beauty.

"I even went over to my guitar player that night and was telling him about how beautiful I thought she was right there in the middle of the show. I thought there was an angel standing there," he sweetly recalled.

Their romance didn't begin right away due to Carmichael being on the road, but they developed a friendship that gradually became more than platonic. They officially started dating in February 2019.

Carmichael confessed he flew to see Whitson's parents to ask for their blessing for her hand in marriage, though he chose not to disclose his trip. The singer knew Whitson had her suspicions but did away with them when he finally popped the question.

In a picturesque grand romantic gesture, on their two-year anniversary, Carmichael went down on one knee, and before he could say anything, Whitson said, "Yes." The lovebirds were engaged in February 2021 but were in no rush to tie the knot, as Carmichael said:

"We're not in a hurry. We have made a commitment to each other, and now we can just take our time."

Carmichael and Whitson have lived together since July 2019. The couple has two dogs; a teacup Yorkie (Parker) Whitson received as a gift from her parents in 2014 and another named after one of Carmichael's musical influences, Joe Diffie.

Whitson often shares clips from their home life with the two pups on her social media, including her Instagram. She also shares adorable clips of both dogs on TikTok, showing snippets of their relationship.

Carmichael and Whitson also take their pets on the road now and then. Whitson started joining her husband on tours in 2019. That year, they made their red-carpet debut as a couple at the CMA Festival — also attended by Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson (married to Brandi Johnson), Lauren Alaina, and Tanya Tucker.
