At the time of writing, Chris Young does not have a wife. However, the singer — who made a "conscious decision" to keep who he's dating away from the spotlight — shared a little bit about his dating life and revealed it was filled with a few heartbreaks that made for great albums.

Chris Young is a country music singer and songwriter, and while he isn't shy to sing about love and unexpected romances, the Tennessee native mostly prefers to keep who he is dating away from the spotlight.

However, Chris Young has opened up about his dating life on rare occasions and revealed that while he knew his vagueness made his fans "nuts," he preferred to keep the details of who he was seeing for his close friends and family.

Chris Young Decided Early on in His Career to Keep His Personal Life under Wraps

Since making a name for himself as a country superstar, Young has amassed a large fan base who have been itching to know more about who he's dating. However, a few years ago, the singer committed himself to keeping his lips sealed regarding his love interests. Young said:

"I know it drives people nuts, but that was a conscious decision I made several years ago. I tell people when I've been dating somebody before, but I also do like to keep my private life private."

Keeping to the theme of his love life, Young revealed that while he hasn't found a wife just yet, "anytime there's a really good breakup" in his life, he's prompted to use his emotions as inspiration for his music. "I'm like, well, she broke my heart. It's time to go write an album!" Young said.

Chris Young's Grandmother Was Also Curious to Know When He Was Going to Settle Down and Find a Wife

During an interview, Young humorously revealed that during a family gathering, his grandmother came up to him in the kitchen to ask if he had any plans to pop the question to a lucky lady anytime soon. "So smooth," Young said with a smile at his grandmother's antics.

However, Young hasn't enjoyed unmarried life completely alone, as the singer is often joined by his dog and best friend, Porter.

And while Young it yet to tie the knot, his name was brought up in another marriage: Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's. In 2015, Young took to Twitter to share that while it was out of his character to address gossip, he had to render any rumors that he had any involvement in the former couple's divorce "false."

Chris Young Has Been Enjoying Life as an Unmarried Man

Earlier this week, Young turned to Instagram to reveal that he was using this year to focus on himself regarding his music and his health. "Still not done, but down 60 pounds," he partly captioned a post of his toned physique.

However, Young hasn't enjoyed unmarried life alone, as the singer is often joined by his dog and best friend, Porter. In honor of National Pet Day in April, Young shared a clip of Porter joining him onstage, and a few days later, the singer posted a picture of him and Porter enjoying some downtime before they hit the road again.

Young's close bond with his furry pet also inspired him to write a song about the German Sheppard, and the musician shared, "They say a dog is a man's best friend, and well, I can't argue with that."
