In 2019, Barker had his most recent fall when he slipped while walking around his Hollywood Hills home.

The television personality would have celebrated his 100th birthday in December 2023. Last year, Barker commemorated his 99th birthday with a small private party with Burnet, noting how he'd lived simply, quietly, and unextravagant.
