Nancy Burnet, Bob Barker's longtime partner, opened up about the legendary TV host's final days, not long after his death. She revealed that their romantic relationship had evolved into a friendship.

Burnet had the best nurses and caregivers in Los Angeles for the television show host. Despite his death, Barker's doctors were surprised by how sturdy and healthy he was towards the end of his life.

"Even in his final stages, he wasn't that gaunt," Burnet revealed about Barker. She also shared how she stayed in contact with his caregiver nurses "every day, all day." At night, they made sure to check in with her, and if an issue arose, she would talk to them until late. They would also send her videos that allowed her to check in on him daily, and she also spoke to them on the phone.

"The Price Is Right" star's partner confessed it was a pleasure to care for him. She was also strong enough to discuss how she felt about losing her longtime partner.

The "Truth or Consequences" star and his long-term partner also advocated for exploited and abused animals in the US and worldwide. In 1987, Burnet even founded United Activists for Animal Rights to emphasize her activism, adding:

"We were great friends over these 40 years. He will be missed."

The last time Barker was photographed was on February 26, 2021, when he was seen getting some sun outside his home in a wheelchair while his medical staff waited on him. At the time, the television personality was dressed in a red T-shirt, a plaid jacket, gray sweatpants, and black sneakers.

He always brought awareness by urging them to neuter or spay their pets.

Barker died just months before he would have celebrated a significant milestone, but his legacy would continue through the work he and Burnet did and how he emphasized this whenever he signed off from his fan-favorite show.

The Major Milestone Bob Barker Would Never Celebrate

The private star's partner noted how he'd lived simply and quietly, with no extravagance. Burnet believed her longtime partner's legacy lives on through his work with animal adoption and care.

It would also remain through his "The Price Is Right" sign-off, where he reminded audiences and viewers to assist in controlling the pet population. He always brought awareness by urging them to neuter or spay their pets.

Barker's partner believed many people either appreciated him, enjoyed his work, or his efforts with animals. Burnet said the late star knew how he was appreciated and was always grateful.
