Bob Barker has died at the age of 99. As per his agent, he died of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles on August 26, 2023. Parker is known for hosting the longest-running US game show, "The Price is Right" for 35 years.

"The Price is Right" on CBS involved contestants showing their knowledge of the price of consumer items. Barker would ask contestants the questions, and those who got the cost of consumer items right won prizes.

Barker, who was born in December 1923 in Washington State, hosted the first series of "The Price is Right" in 1972 and left the game show in 2007. The show host started his career in the US Navy, which he joined during World War II.

After leaving the Navy, he started a career in radio and later TV. Barker won 19 Emmy awards during his career in radio and TV, which ran for four decades. After he left "The Price is Right," comedian Drew Carey took over from him as the host.

The TV host was initially married to his wife, Dorothy Jo Gideon, having walked down the aisle in 1945. Unfortunately, he lost her to lung cancer in 1981. However, even after her death, he kept the estate and lived in the Spanish Colonial-style house for years until his death.

Where Did Bob Barker Live for Years?

Barker lived in the house that was built in 1929. He and Gideon fell in love with the house from the moment they moved in. They never did anything to change its exterior or interior architecture.

On October 19, 2017, Barker was spotted visiting Gideon's grave with a bouquet of daisies. This visit marked the 36th anniversary of her death.

The 5,000-square-foot house has four bedrooms and a maid's quarters. Since the couple never changed the house, it was called a great and "unaltered" type of the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture.

Some of the house's unique features are French doors, low-pitched tile roofs, and stucco surfaces. The interior is also closely related to the outdoors, which is a magnificent sprawling beauty.

Over the years, Barker gave sneak peeks into his home, sometimes with his pets, as he was an animal lover and animal rights activist. A photo taken in 2011 at the house shows him posing with a pet rabbit.

Barker adored this house, which the city of Los Angeles declared a historic cultural monument in January 2000.

On October 19, 2017, Barker was spotted visiting Gideon's grave with a bouquet of daisies. This visit marked the 36th anniversary of her death. Barker and his wife never had kids.

However, in 1995, Barker founded the "DJ&T Foundation" to honor his wife's memory. The foundation has now shut down, but it used to fund spaying and neutering clinics to control animal overpopulation.

After Gideon died, Barker got into other relationships. His most noteworthy relationship was with Nancy Burnet, which started in 1983. Like him, Burnet is also an animal rights activist.
