A young man opened up on Reddit's "ProRevenge" forum to share an interesting incident in which he took revenge on a co-worker years after being fired. Before sharing the main story, the man discussed a few points to make his story easy to understand.

At first, the man shared his story with a friend who suggested posting it on Reddit. He had no idea other users would upvote his post and appreciate him for taking revenge on his co-worker.

"If revenge is best served cold, then my revenge was many years in the freezer, and, this week, was finally pulled out and had whipped cream and a cherry put on top put before finally served," the man stated before narrating his story.

He recalled working in a company where he was part of a small team of ten members. The company's owner was a kind man who treated everyone like family, so the man enjoyed working there.

The Redditor revealed that the work environment in that company was far from toxic. His boss paid everyone well, compensated whenever employees worked overtime, gave them breaks, and even gave everyone a paid week off when his son was getting married. The Redditor only had good memories of the time he spent there.

Soon after the man completed three years at the company, an opening for a managerial position came up. Since he was one of the oldest employees at the company, the man confidently applied for the role but did not get it because he did not have a degree in business administration.

As a result, he decided to enroll in a university and get a degree, which meant he had to leave his job. He talked to the company owner about it and submitted his resignation letter. He felt happy that the owner understood that he was sincerely trying to excel in his career.

Once the man began going to his university, he learned that government grants covered his tuition fee, but he had to pay rent and manage his food expenses. Soon, he found a job at a retail store (he referred to it as Company B) with about 50 employees. The man said he was not used to working around so many people but still worked there, hoping things would turn out okay.

"Skip forward seven years. In that time, I got my BA degree and worked at Company B the whole time, going from part-time to full-time, and eventually applied for the Warehouse Supervisor position," the man recalled.

Soon, he got hired and began working as a supervisor. Months later, he hired a woman called K, who played an important role in the story. Then the company hired another woman, who the man did not like.

He recalled that he did not get along well with the woman as she would constantly complain to the manager about him and would feel bad when he did the same. The man said she talked badly about him behind his back and told everyone she couldn't wait for him to leave the company because she believed he caused problems.

According to the man, his co-worker never accepted her mistakes. She would blame him, other employees, the customers, or the delivery drivers whenever something went wrong. Soon after her joining, the man got fired from the company.

How Did He End up Being Fired?

While working at the company, the man designed a procedure to ensure precious goods, such as jewelry, were kept from being stolen or lost. The last step in the process was to take the goods from the warehouse and put them in the safe at the office.

One day, the man was processing an order that included an expensive ring set worth over $5,000. After completing the initial steps of processing the order, it was time for the man to take the rings to the safe.

He informed his co-worker, K, that he was leaving for the office before turning to the other employee, whom he did not like. She had the passcode to the safe, so the man had to talk to her before keeping the rings there.

"She looked at me, looked at the jewelry box in my hand, then said, 'Put it down here on my desk. I'll put it away once I'm done with this email,'" the man recalled. He left the box on her desk and never saw her put it in the safe, unaware that this would make him lose his job.

The following morning, the manager called the man in his office and said that the jewelry box he gave to the woman was empty. Shocked, the man assured his boss the rings were there when he left the box on her desk, but there was no way to prove he was right.

As a result, the woman got the opportunity to blame the man, saying that he was the one who last saw the rings. Soon, the manager called the man to his office again to inform him that he was being fired. That day, the man lost his job because he trusted his co-worker with the rings, unaware she would make it look like he lost them.

After losing his job, the man thought it would be difficult to land a new one because of his bad reputation at the retail store. In search of recommendations, the man called his former employer and learned they had a job opening.

"I dive into my new job I originally wanted with an owner I enjoyed working for," he said. He felt grateful to return to the company and work in a role he liked. Little did he know that fate would soon allow him to take revenge on his former co-worker.

What Was His Revenge?

Once the man was fired from the company, his co-worker K decided to find out the truth about the missing rings. Since she knew the Redditor well, she was sure he didn't steal them. She suspected the co-worker who didn't like him made him lose his job on purpose.

Hoping to learn the truth, K gradually became friends with the woman by badmouthing the man. K pretended to dislike the Redditor in front of the woman for a year, hoping she would say something about the incident that day.

About a year later, the woman invited K and her husband for drinks at their place. While they were having a good time together, K deliberately talked about the missing rings while talking about the Redditor. During their conversation, the woman said something K had been waiting for:

"I wanted those rings, so I stole them."

Unaware that K's husband was recording their conversation, the woman confessed how she stole the rings that day. She said that she picked up the jewelry box and was about to put it in the safe when she came up with the idea of stealing the rings.

Knowing the security cameras weren't working that day, the woman slid the rings into her pocket and told the manager the box was empty, hoping it would result in the Redditor getting fired. The woman also showed K where she had kept the rings in her house.

K submitted the audio recording to the manager the following day, resulting in the woman's arrest. The police raided her house, confiscated the rings, and pressed charges for stealing goods over $5,000.

The woman was sentenced to five years in prison, while the Redditor sued her for causing him emotional distress. He asked her for $3,500 by legally filing a case with the help of his lawyer.

While the Redditor thought he would never see the woman again, fate made them meet years later when the woman came to his office for an interview. She had applied for a position in the company, and the owner had scheduled her interview.

When she came to the office and saw the Redditor, her expression went blank because she didn't expect to see him there. The Redditor recalled:

"I look at her resume and say, 'I'm sorry, I do not think you will be a good fit for our company. Thank you for applying.'"

Here is another story about a man whose boss unjustly fired him after ten years. His children found out and decided to take revenge.
