The actress could not believe that her eldest child was about to turn 24 and her son was 19. But the conversation started with a simple question about the last thing that made Witherspoon happy.

The "Your Place or Mine" star said it was when she danced to top 40 songs in her kitchen. She said she loved to do it because she was always willing to make people around her laugh.

Although it is her way of expressing love, the actress joked that her dancing horrified her kids, but Ross said those small moments would be the ones her children will fondly look back on.

Ross reminded Witherspoon of this because she knew the actress' close relationship with her mother. The "Cruel Intentions" star revealed that her mother also always tried to get people to laugh, and now she found herself doing the same.

Witherspoon's close-knit relationship with her mother is something she wished to have with her children, too, so much so that looking at how far she had come as a mother made her emotional. The actress felt grateful to have them in her life. She expressed,

"I never expected the kind of relationship that I have with them, but it's so rewarding to be able to have kids that you can process life with a little bit, and they help me understand the complexities of what it means to be a human now."

Fans got a glimpse of this close-knit relationship Witherspoon shares with her children through their heartfelt Mother's Day messages. Ava said her mother was her "best friend, role model, cheerleader, confidante."

For her son, every day was Mother's Day because of the amazing mother he had. The actress also paid tribute to her mother and wrote, "The original Mama Bear who taught me to be fierce and loving. Kind and strong," and thanked her for her continuous support.

When Witherspoon fell pregnant at 22 years old, just as her career was taking off, she did not think she would be able to balance her skyrocketing acting career and motherhood, but with each day, it got better, and in the end, the journey was worth it.
