Ozzy Osbourne got into an accident in December 2003 that left him with a broken neck vertebra. The singer, who was 55 years old then, was seriously injured in the quad-bike accident at his Buckinghamshire home.
Ozzy broke his collarbone and six ribs. He was hospitalized at Wexham Park Hospital and had surgery to lift his collarbone. The collarbone was resting on a major artery and preventing blood flow to his arm.
Surgeons also worked on Ozzy's lungs to stem the bleeding. However, the singer's injuries weren't considered life-threatening. Still, Ozzy's quality of life and health have been affected ever since he got injured in the accident.
The singer has been in and out of the hospital for treatment and surgery. In 2019, he underwent a spinal surgery that put him in constant pain and need of daily physiotherapy. In January 2020, Ozzy revealed that he had been diagnosed in 2003 with Parkin 2, a rare form of Parkinson's disease.
Ozzy said when the wounds from his 2003 accident healed, his spinal column was squeezed, leading to the spinal surgery. He would also occasionally get sharp shocks down one side of his body, and one time, in 2019, he fell in the bathroom and couldn't get up.
Sharon and Ozzy have been there for each other through the thick and thin of their marriage. When Sharon survived colon cancer in 2002, the singer was by her side.
The "Close My Eyes Forever" singer has undergone several surgeries over the past few years, and he recently spilled the beans about his current state of health and the support he has received from loved ones.

Ozzy's Current Health State and Wife's Support
Ozzy revealed in September 2023 on "The Osbournes Podcast" that he was currently in a "lot of pain" and "in a lot of discomfort." The singer made this revelation while chatting with his wife, Sharon Osbourne, daughter, Kelly Osbourne, and son, Jack Osbourne.
Ozzy and Sharon have one more child together, daughter Aimee Osbourne. The couple, who have been married for 41 years, have three kids together. On the podcast conversation, the rock singer said he was going soon for a fourth surgery and an epidural injection. Doctors aren't sure if the surgery number four will work on to heal his injuries.
The 74-year-old said the surgery was linked to the injuries he got in his 2003 accident. The quad-bike hit Ozzy below the neck in his two vertebrae, which disintegrated. Sharon chipped in and said she wasn't sure about the technical terms, but what she knew was that her husband was in a lot of pain.
Sharon has been beside Ozzy's side as he battles health challenges. Ozzy once confessed that he cheated on his wife and that he is lucky Sharon didn't leave him. The singer said he wasn't proud of cheating on his wife and breaking her heart but that he was now loyal to her.
The mom of three also admitted that the pair's relationship has had its ups and downs ever since they got married in 1982. She said the two of them were oddballs and wild young people that found each other.
The 70-year-old, who separated from Ozzy briefly in 2016 when he was unfaithful, added that the most important thing in relationships is that people don't give up on each other and accept one another for who they are:
"No relationship is easy, and you have to work at it. You get your ugly times, your bad times, and your horrific times. But if you love each other enough, you'll work through."
Sharon and Ozzy have been there for each other through the thick and thin of their marriage. When Sharon survived colon cancer in 2002, the singer was by her side. Sharon is now in remission, and the two seem closer than ever despite the challenges they have been through. Now, as proud grandparents, Ozzy and Sharon count family as their biggest blessing.
