Blueface's Parents: The Rapper Was Raised by a Single Mom

Blueface, born Johnathan Jamall Porter, was raised by Karlissa Saffold alongside two siblings before the pair became estranged. They've been engaged in a public feud for years since Blueface accrued fame.

In October 2022, Blueface's mother, Karlissa Saffold, sat down for an exclusive interview and briefly touched on her upbringing and early journey into motherhood. She shared that she was raised by parents who had a troubled relationship.

Although she didn't delve into details, Karlissa said her father used to drive her mother "crazy." This dynamic affected her childhood negatively, and she recalled being 13, going into a closet, and praying that God gave her ten children.

Because of how her parents treated her, Karlissa didn't want anything more than to be the best mom she could be. Four years later, she welcomed her first son, Andre. She then had Blueface and completed her family with her daughter, Kali.

Karlissa raised all three as a single mother, though her kids saw their dads on weekends. However, despite her wish to cultivate loving relationships with her children, things fell by the wayside with Blueface, who candidly stated that he no longer had a mother.

Blueface's Parents: His Mother Is an Entrepreneur

Karlissa moved to Los Angeles from Ohio when she was young to become an actress. Blueface was already born by then, and the then-young rapper would accompany her to auditions. He once recalled those memories fondly.

Blueface remembered the fun he had when he was cast for commercials. It's unclear what direction Karlissa took with acting, but she hasn't abandoned entertainment. During the above interview, she mentioned working on a script about her life with her kids.

Additionally, she heads the family brand called CixoT LA Real Family Blues. According to the enterprise's YouTube channel, 'CixoT' is 'toxic' spelled backward. "[CixoT] can be used to describe someone who was formerly toxic but has reformed their behavior," the About section stated.

A Brief Overview of Blueface's Relationship with His Mom

Blueface achieved worldwide fame in 2018 following the success of his single, "Thotiana," later remixed with Cardi B. As fans grew interested in his personal life, however, his troubled relationship with his family came into view.

In 2019, the musician went viral for kicking his mother and sister out of his house. Kali recorded the altercation via Instagram Live. Blueface explained his side of the story, saying, "[...] My mom got tired of my broke [expletive] sister freeloading at her house, so she brought her to mine [and] I wasn't going for it."

Karlissa, now married, has also made disturbing remarks about Blueface's girlfriend, Chrisean Rock, who also had a tumultuous upbringing. Shortly after Chrisean gave birth to Blueface's son in early September 2023, Karlissa suggested she and Blueface might be related.

She based her claim on Chrisean's mother's last name, which, reportedly, is Dorsey. Karlissa explained that she had family members who also went by Dorsey. "I bet you we need to test the baby," she said of the Chrisean and Blueface's newborn son. Neither parent has responded at this time.

Blueface Candidly Stating He Didn't Have a Mother and Her Response

During an interview, Blueface reportedly stated that he doesn't have a mom, calling her "weird" and "strange." Blueface added that he didn't know what her motive or "angle" was and that he didn't care for Karlissa.

"This ninja said [expletive] everyone but the people who [are] leeching off him. You are the world's biggest weirdo," she reportedly said in response. Karlissa noted how he didn't have a genuine support system and concluded, "I'm done with you. I washed my hands."
