Woman Goes on a Date at 7 Months Pregnant: “He Had Lots of Questions for Me”

A woman was looking for love on a dating app. However, one detail on her profile may have turned many men away. Luckily, she met one man who was open-minded and kind about her situation.

TikTok user Megan Dowling shared a video telling her followers she was getting ready for a date. However, the catch was that she was 28 weeks pregnant with her ex's baby. She didn't know how her date would react.

Megan Dowling shared her story with her followers, saying that she and her baby's father had not worked out but that she was aware that time did not stop and she needed to continue with her life, so she set up a dating profile.

She filled her profile with only photos of her face and none of her body, so nobody knew she was pregnant. While she didn't reveal she was pregnant, Dowling did mention she had children on her profile.

What Did Dowling Say About the Date?

Dowling said that on her Instagram page, people knew she was pregnant because she had posted pictures of her belly, but on her Hinge profile, nobody could have known she was carrying her daughter.

While Dowling was not necessarily looking for a relationship, she had an active Hinge profile, on which she matched with a man. Dowling admitted she eventually had to tell him she was pregnant because she wouldn't go into the date lying to the man.

Dowling said that she was of two minds about the date because the man could be her child's stepfather, or he could have a fetish that led him to want to date a pregnant woman, which was a concern of hers.

As she got ready, Dowling talked about how difficult it was to get dressed as a pregnant woman because things didn't fit the way she wanted them to or she looked different in items she had worn before.

Finally, Dowling found something to wear on her date: a black dress and straight hair. She joked:

"Cheers to finding my [baby's] stepdad."

Dowling's first video was met with many shocked and confused comments from her followers. Some asked how she told the man she was pregnant, and others congratulated her on being brave enough to date while she was pregnant.

How Did the Date Go?

Dowling readily answered all the questions her followers left her but dedicated an entire video to a person asking how she had told the man she was pregnant with her daughter before their date.

The mother-to-be mentioned that she had added that she had kids to her profile, and it was not long before her Hinge match asked about it. He said he had seen she had children and wanted to know how old they were.

Dowling started by saying she hadn't yet had to answer that question but that her answer was strange and unconventional, and she would completely understand if he was no longer interested once she told him.

After she had explained that, Dowling told the man that she had not given birth to any children yet. Instead, she was 27 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. Her date's response shocked her as he told her he was open-minded and that her baby was a blessing.

The man told Dowling he shared two boys with "their amazing mommy." Dowling then said she preferred to use Hinge for dating as she could speak to men as herself without them having her pregnancy in their minds right off the bat.

Later, Dowling gave an update on how the date went. While she had the usual reservations about going on a first date, like whether or not he would look like his pictures or whether or not he would think she was pretty, she said everything was great and gave the date a 10/10 rating. She clarified:

"I mean, obviously, he had lots of questions for me."

She said she was fully prepared to answer any questions he had for her because she was not emotional about her situation. Dowling also assured her followers that her date was "not a weirdo," and they planned a second date.

Their second date was the man coming to her home to help her build her nursery furniture and set it up for her. Dowling said that wherever their relationship went, they were good friends for now, and he wanted to be there for her when she needed it.

She then said that it shocked her how many people were in the same situation she was. One woman wrote:

"I did the same. I'd always say, 'I'm pregnant, not dead.'"

Others talked about how they wished they were brave enough to date while pregnant, and many said that Dowling had inspired them to try dating even though they were expecting bundles of joy.
