Suzanne Somers recently passed away just a day before her birthday. At the beginning of October, she teased fans about what would occur during her birthday month.

Somers was an actress, and in the early 1970s, she landed minor roles in film and television. The star finally bagged a gig in an ABC hit sitcom. She was cast in "Three's Company," wherein she starred as Chrissy Snow alongside Joyce DeWitt, Priscilla Barnes, John Ritter, and Richard Kline.

However, she was reportedly fired from the show after she asked for a raise during the fifth season. Somers then went to Las Vegas, where she performed continuously in the mid-1980s.

She later got another role as Carol Foster in the television series, "Step by Step," in 1991, alongside Patrick Duffy. In addition to being an actress, she was credited as a composer and producer.

Somers' Tragic Death One Day before Her Birthday

Somers' longtime publicist, R. Couri Hay, announced her passing on her Instagram account alongside a picture of the star smiling while looking directly at the camera with her blue eyes:

"Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years."

According to Hay, the California native was surrounded by her loved ones, including her longtime husband, Alan Hamel, and her son from her previous marriage. She had previously discussed her cancer battle in an Instagram post.

Most importantly, she divulged her spouse Hamel had been her rock as she posted a photo of the happy couple being cozy and wrote:

"I can’t even explain how much he has done for me. If it’s even possible, we are even closer than ever."

Hamel, 87, reportedly penned a poem for his beautiful wife of 46 years, which she read the evening before she took her last breath. It was a handwritten love poem that the Canadian television host had wrapped in his spouse's favorite pink peonies.

Somers also shared she would be offering a "special gift." Her family had planned on gathering for her birthday, but she unfortunately could not live to see the day.
