Catching a cheating partner is a very unpleasant and heartbreaking experience, but it saves people from investing their time in a meaningless relationship. Such incidents make some people stop believing in love while giving them a reason to leave their disloyal partners.

People shared their experiences on Reddit about catching their partners cheating with someone else. They described their feelings then and shared how the incident impacted their lives.

1. The PlayStation Game

I used to work many hours, and her house was closer to my job, so I stayed there at night. I'd have time to come over, eat, watch a TV show, cuddle with her, and go to bed. I had brought my PS3 over so we could use Netflix.

One day, I left work early because I wasn't feeling good. She insisted I come to her place instead of going home, and she'd care for me once she got home. I decided to set up camp on the couch and play a game on my PS3. But my disc wouldn't go in. There was already a disc in there for some reason. I ejected it - Madden '11.

I've never played a Madden game, and my girlfriend wasn't a gamer. She had no siblings or friends with siblings. I asked her about it when she got home, and she froze. I knew right then.

Then she confessed that she was cheating. I was working too much, and she wasn't getting what she needed, so she was spending time with a guy from her work on the nights I did go home. I don't know what I was more upset about—another man sleeping with my girlfriend or that he had been playing my PlayStation 3.

2. She Wanted to Use My Phone

Okay, so my ex was having computer problems and wanted to go on Facebook on my phone. No problem, but I made her use Safari so I wouldn't have to log out of the app.

A few days later, I was closing tabs on my phone when I saw her Facebook was still open. Well, I see she's chatting with her ex, John. It turns out they slept in our bed and were going on a date soon.

So, in the messages, he asked [her to] "wear something nice." I'm not jealous, so I leave it for a few days. A couple of days go by, and she wants to get intimate.

While in bed together, I whisper in her ear, "Don't forget John wants you to wear something nice on your date Saturday." The look of horror in her eyes was magical. I put my shirt on and start walking out as she's crying and saying she's sorry.

I went to log into my email when the website suggested an email address I didn't recognize. I answered my partner's security questions and reset his password to find emails between him and the neighbor.

We were in therapy to recover from him cheating with her, and there they were waxing poetic about their love and when I'd be out of the house so they could be together.

The real horror story is that our seven-year-old daughter is the one who accidentally caught them originally by walking into our bedroom while I was at work.

My girlfriend and I were long-distance, and she habitually went quiet sometimes. She'd been texting me for the last few weeks but had made excuses not to visit.

I went to a party that my friend had organized. Over there, I met one of his friends who told me my friend had a new girlfriend. I was surprised he hadn't mentioned her, so I asked the woman who she was.

This lady introduced me to my girlfriend. She had told everyone that we had broken up and had been dating my friend for about a month. She didn't bother telling me.

5. Dating Groups

I busted my ex-fiancé when Facebook suggested I join the same dating group he had just joined. At the time, we had been together for a year and had gotten engaged a few months prior, so we were exclusive.

I dug into his other groups and found he was a member of a dozen dating groups. Some things started to make sense to me all of a sudden. He used to quickly swipe away notifications, use Facebook all the time, and turn his phone off at night "to charge." It made perfect sense now.

I had been suspicious for months but never had any proof until then. I'd caught him flirting and joining other questionable groups before, but nothing that crossed the line like this.

Since he wanted to date women on Facebook, I dumped him over Messenger while he was at work and gave him exactly one week to leave my apartment. I'm honestly so embarrassed to have ever been with that person. How stupid do you have to be to cheat on the world's most popular social network right out in the open? Jesus, at least TRY to hide it.

6. I Was the Other Guy

I met a girl working the late shift at a drugstore. We'd flirted a few times, eventually exchanged numbers, and started getting intimate. After a few weeks, she invited me to drink at this little bar she liked on the city's north side.

So we spend the night dancing together, drinking, and talking to people she knows. Eventually, a guy approaches me, saying, "Great to meet you finally! Congratulations on the engagement!"

"What are you talking about?!" I replied, laughing as I choked on my drink a bit. The guy gives me a quizzical look and says, "You're here with Corrie. It's Paul, right!?" I raised an eyebrow and pointed a thumb to my chest, stating, "Nah man, name's Kyle."

We stared at each other, watching each other realize what was playing out on this faithful night. Corrie was engaged to a guy named Paul, and I was the other guy. Paul worked out of town for weeks at a time.

It was interesting how you could see the word travel around the small bar, drastically changing the vibe in the room. We left shortly after. She brought me, the guy she was cheating on her fiance with, to her favorite bar.

She brought me to a place full of friends who at least knew her well enough to know she was engaged to a guy named Paul, not Kyle. Messed up stuff. I didn't see her again after that. According to Facebook, Paul and Corrie are currently married.

7. The Life-Changing Text

Things were rough between my long-distance girlfriend and me. But I wanted the relationship to work so badly. Money was tight, so my parents supported me by partially paying for a flight ticket to where my ex lived.

A few weeks before I flew to visit my girlfriend, my best friend passed away, and I was utterly devastated. I reached out to my ex for emotional support, but she was particularly difficult to reach out to. I called her maybe five times in an hour out of desperation. Finally, I got a response with a text that read, "This is her boyfriend. Will you please stop texting her?"

Eventually, I get an actual text and a call from my ex, denying everything. At the time, I couldn't confirm whether my ex was actually cheating on me. But I eventually learned from her friends that she was cheating on me.

This was a few years ago. I'm doing pretty good right now and am in a very happy relationship. But man, does it sting just remembering all I went through that day.

8. She's My Grandmother!

He told me he was helping his grandma, who he lived with, retile her bathroom because she'd fallen ill and was stressed about her bathroom not being finished that day. Sure, man, no problem. I was at work anyway, or I would have helped.

My mom took my brothers out to a restaurant an hour later and walked in to see my then-boyfriend acting quite inappropriately with a girl I worked with who claimed she hated him for many reasons.

He told my mom she was his sick grandma. She agreed. She was 22 in a halter top and jeans and honestly wasn't bad-looking. My mom called them out, then called me.

I finished work, went to my apartment, gathered his belongings, bagged them up, and politely dropped them off to his grandma, who had no idea what happened. I laughed and said my man went on a date without me.

My ex and I are men, so the woman in the equation threw me for a loop. But you know, bad things happen sometimes. I'm only mad that he lied and that she knew we were dating the entire time. She told me she "had fun being the other person" because it meant she didn't have to commit to anyone.

9. The Birth Story

It was 1999, and I was pregnant with baby #2. I went to a pottery party with about 15 other ladies. I knew one of them. We're talking about our birth stories, and one girl mentioned how she was on a date with a man on the 4th of July, and his 'sister-in-law' went into labor.

He was drinking, ignoring the pager, and finally had enough coffee to haul off on his Harley to the hospital at around 5 a.m. She mentioned his beautiful blue eyes and tattoos. Meanwhile, my friend and I look at each other with crazy eyes because that is MY birth story with baby #1.

I asked the girl if his name was Jack. She said yes. I said that wasn't his SIL, that was his wife, and that's me. She lost it. She had no clue he was married. She cried and apologized but swore she never saw him again.

She covered her face and sobbed when I asked if they had slept together. I hugged her and went home. He lied. So. Hard. A week later, a neighbor hurt him so bad he nearly died. After months of rehab, I have baby #2.

We got a massive settlement from the neighbor's incident (6 figures), and he spent all of it. I filed for divorce on my baby's first birthday. Today, son #1 is in the Army, and son #2 is just as awesome. Jack is still a terrible person. Whew.

10. We Had No Idea about It

My dad was born in the Philippines and would go to a golf tournament once a year for two weeks or so. I remember these two weeks every year would be terrible because I wasn't as close with my mom back then.

Anyway, fast forward to when I was 10, my parents were in the process of splitting up, and I found these weird baby pictures and huge group family photos of a wedding on the family computer (I was the primary user of the computer) and am just sitting there not sure what to think.

I show my mom. I put 2 and 2 together, and we just sit there hugging each other, crying for a solid hour. It turns out he has had a family with about 6/7 kids that were older AND younger than me, with the oldest being eight years older than me. Me and my mom were The second family.

The person he had that family with? His first cousin. He's now married to that person, and over the years, he has used my mom's credit to pay off his gambling debts, pay to bring his kids over to the States slowly, and even had the nerve to use my mom's savings to pay for his wedding in the Philippines while they were still married.

One of my former co-workers loaded in an SD card with a scanned project file on it. He inserted it into the conference room PC, where we saw inappropriate photos of his wife with another man. We were just stunned.

This was in a senior budgetary meeting with the outside accountants and auditors. He was sitting right there, and we were looking at his wife and another guy on the screen. Then, I reached over and shut the projector off.

Nobody said anything. He got up, walked out, and drove off in his car. He left his phone and laptop sitting on the table. He wound up driving to his parents' house three states away. He was gone for a week.

I had an acquaintance, a serial cheater. Her husband outed her because her WhatsApp was mirrored on their common laptop. She was apparently texting her paramour right next to him as they were in bed.

It turns out that the guy was working on the laptop, saw the whole gory thing in real-time, and took screenshots. He dumped the entire thing on Facebook and tagged her sister. Their Facebook pages were a mine of drama for days on end.

I am a man and was suspicious about why my husband, 25 years older than me, kept disappearing for the weekend. After a few weeks of him leaving, I finally got the urge to check his email, as I knew his passwords. I saw that he was flying across the country, had a new job, and his companion ticket was his ex-wife.

They supposedly had been planning to get re-married, sue me for spousal support, and try to take half of my money, as I had just started making multiple six figures. I lawyered up, and he ended up disappearing. This was three years ago. He reached out to me a few weeks back. It was very odd.

I found out nearly a year after we had broken up. I met a girl at a party and started talking about crazy exes. Our stories sounded a bit too similar, so I jokingly asked, "Did we date the same guy?"

It turned out that we did date the same man simultaneously. My ex and I had been together for two years before she got involved with him. That was a fun night.

My ex-girlfriend's younger sister came up and asked if I had met her boyfriend yet. I was like, "You know I'm her boyfriend. We have been dating for years."

She said, "No, the NEW one." So yeah. I talked to my ex, and she admitted it. Also, we were both sixteen at that time, and her sister was 12 if I remember correctly.

My ex's parents had CCTV all over the house. One day, her Dad played the video of her being intimate with another man in front of me and half her family. I don't think he liked me.

He wanted to get rid of me and didn't worry about embarrassing his daughter to do so. Apart from her Dad, they were quite lovely people. I do find it pretty funny now. I'm with someone much better now, so it was for the best.

I saw a text come through to my ex's phone from one of my friends regarding what mattress she wanted. It turned out that they had been out for the night drinking, got back to her house, and tried to get intimate.

They didn't do anything and slept. The guy urinated while asleep, so he wanted to replace her mattress. I always felt like that was karma at work. I don't hold any grudges against my friend. If anything, he did me a favor!

I had a friend a few years ago who was a private detective. He specialized in investigating marital infidelity. He told his client to take up a hobby. It didn't matter what it was.

It could be anything: pottery, yoga, or an evening course in basket weaving. The important part was that the client would be at a class every week on a specific day and time. Then he'd tail the spouse—slam dunk.

She had me set up her computer that I had bought. I didn't remember her password to her iCloud account, so we just used mine. I had a rough time finding work and was filling out job applications on my computer and started receiving alerts for messages.

Yeah, there were the MULTIPLE men she was having affairs with. I filed for divorce the following week. Four years later, I'm doing amazingly well, and she's a lonely woman.

I then had to hold my heart in my chest and my stomach in my abdomen while a group of children, including my two small daughters, sang "Happy Birthday" and had a great time.

My then-16-year-old neighbor came to sit by me and asked me what was wrong. I was upset about a certain financial situation my wife had gotten us into. So, I was going to explain my situation.

Before I could speak, she asked if it was because my wife slept with my brother. My heart immediately went to my throat, and my stomach knotted up. I was in shock. Not only did I have no clue, but my 16-year-old neighbor was the one who had to break it to me.

22. I Am Her Husband!

My wife wanted to move out of Los Angeles, so I got a job in Utah. She suggested I set up a house, and she'd join in a few weeks when her bank job would let her transfer.

A few weeks later, I'm back in California for a romantic weekend with her in the mountains. She forgot her cell phone at work (the bank) and couldn't go back for it. She kept using my mobile phone to check her voicemail remotely. Like obsessively.

She would then return calls to people from random phones (hotel, pay phone, etc.) but not my mobile. As I was sitting in the airport, preparing to fly back to Utah, thinking about how weird it all was, I decided to check her voicemail from my cell.

She hadn't deleted her recent messages. There was a voicemail from some guy asking if she was okay, and he was worried about her sick grandpa she went to visit and that he loved her.

In a stroke of luck, he said he didn't have good cell service at his friend's house, so he gave his friend's number to call. I called.

He said he was her boyfriend, and I said I was her husband. I yelled at him. He yelled at me. Then I said, "Dude, we're both getting played." We had a total bro moment. I filed divorce papers the following week.

I found out after I broke up with her in January 2018. The next day, I returned to our flat to get the rest of my things. She opened the door and was freshly showered and styled. I was a little confused.

I just entered the living room, and there was a guy I saw for the past few months walking along the street after I returned from work, sitting on my couch. I was shocked. I got my stuff, and after returning to my brother's flat, I realized what was happening.

She cheated on me many times while I was at work, and I never thought about it. And the worst thing is that after I talked to a "friend," I learned that they knew about her affair since it began in April 2017. Her "excuse" was: "I prepared for the time you want to break up with me."

My wife discovered her ex cheated when her friend saw him buying baby supplies. She spoke to him and said how excited she was to be an honorary aunt, and he laughed and said it was a happy time.

The friend assumed his wife was pregnant, so she excitedly phoned her. Anyway, his bags were packed before he got home from his 'work trip.' The friend felt so guilty, but I can't blame her.

The first thing my wife said to me during our first meeting was, "Don't get anyone else pregnant." (I didn't know the story then, so I found it an oddly specific warning.)

I was visiting him and his family and popped out to the shop. This girl was staring at me and came over and asked, "Didn't you and your partner split up?" It turns out they slept together barely 12 hours after I went home four weeks prior.

I stormed back to his place, and he admitted it, so I grabbed my stuff and left. He didn't think I'd find out because she was a "random fling," and I lived 2 hours away.

26. The Alpha Male

A man talking on his phone | Source: Shutterstock

A man talking on his phone | Source: Shutterstock

I looked at his phone when it rang and discovered he was talking to a young girl. A typical conversation like "Hey, how was your day? Haven't seen you in a while." When he came back and I confronted him, he blew up and began yelling at me that I was invading his space and that he had a right to talk to whoever he wanted.

He ran outside and deleted the messages. This continued for a few weeks, and I just wanted us to return to normal. He admitted he cheated, and all I wanted was an apology.

Our final phone conversation was me saying, "Please just apologize. You don't even have to mean it. I just want us back together again!" (Mind you, I was NOT in a good place emotionally and self-esteem-wise.)

Divine intervention must have struck me because he responded, "I'm an alpha male, and alpha males do what they want." I was so blown away by how far I had fallen in respecting myself that my first thought was, "Well, you are alpha single now."

I do regret looking at his phone, but I don't regret that it pushed me out of a failing relationship. Three years later, I'm in bed beside my man, replying to a Reddit post about a long-ago mistake. We will make waffles when we get up.

A friend of mine was suspicious of her husband cheating, as he went to "play soccer with friends" way too often. He always came already showered as he would sweat playing.

One day, she sewed his soccer socks together, and when he came back all showered, she saw the socks were still stitched, so he wasn't playing soccer at all. She later confronted him, and he was indeed cheating.

I was in the Navy and was out on deployment for six months after recently getting engaged (it's one of those stupid things that young military guys do). One day, I got a letter from my fiancée's best friend telling me that she caught my fiancée and her BF together (this was years before email and smartphones were common).

We wrote back and forth several times, and eventually, I learned how she caught them, how my fiancée begged her not to tell me, and that my fiancée didn't know that we were corresponding.

I eventually got back to the States and planned to play it off as though I didn't know, but too many of my friends intercepted me with the news that it wasn't just one guy, but several, and let me know that she knew that I was aware.

Eventually, we met, and the confrontation was minimal and tame. We broke off the engagement without much drama—she kept the ring. Her best friend and I initially ended up dating as revenge but turned serious.

I owned a house with my fiancé. I woke up in the middle of the night, and he wasn't in bed. I went searching. His truck and another vehicle were in the driveway. Then, I went upstairs and found the guest bedroom was locked.

After barging my way in, I found him with another woman in bed. That bed happened to be my childhood bed. He forced me out of the room by pushing me out and closing the door again.

I knew I couldn't do anything then, so I called his parents, who lived a few blocks away. His dad showed up, and another fight broke out. I ended up leaving and staying with his parents until dawn.

I moved out that weekend and let the house foreclose. Nine years later, it's finally off my credit report. I'm happily married to an amazing man, and we own a beautiful home together.

We got married when I was 17 and he was 21. He was shipping off to sea, and I was escaping a bad home life. When he came back after his deployment, he wasn't the same person anymore. After about six months, he gained weight on purpose to fail his physicals so he'd get kicked out of the Navy.

Fast forward a year, I'm working full time, and he is sitting at home, watching anime, and telling me that he "was applying to jobs." I was applying to universities when my laptop died on me. I asked to use his to finish an application, and while doing so, a message popped up on his FB.

It was an inappropriate picture of his ex sent by her. I was shocked and opened it to find that they had been dating for a long time. It started again while he was at sea in the Navy. He would talk to her and never to me, saying he never got the time to email.

I confronted him, and he made a bunch of pitiful excuses. My friends came to the house that day and kicked him out while I went to work. He then stalked me for the next few years and made posts on his Facebook about how I was a coward.

He sent emails and called from blocked numbers to tell me that "a restraining order is just a piece of paper" or that 'our vows before God made me his property' and things like that.

I talked to our friends, told everyone conflicting information about where I was going, and moved states. I deleted all my personal social media accounts and lived in fear for years, watching him continually make memes about how he loved his wife and would do anything for her. It took me eight years to get a divorce from him finally.

I found out he had signed up for many dating apps where he would message mutual acquaintances asking if they'd be up for massages, etc. I blamed myself for years that he wasn't interested in getting intimate with me because I had a baby and gained a little weight.

Nope. He just enjoyed contacting other women for such things. We're in the middle of our divorce now. He doesn't understand why I'm wrecking our marriage because of a few indiscretions.

32. The Facebook Message

My first long-term girlfriend and I would go to the same college. I got accepted but had to start the semester after she did, meaning we would be slightly long-distance for a few months. It wasn't too bad because we were only about 2 hours apart, so it was easy to visit, but our relationship struggled a bit.

One night, I got a phone call from her, and when I picked up, it was apparent it was a butt dial. I could hear her talking to some guy but couldn't understand what they were saying. I called her, and she picked up. I asked what was happening.

She said she was in bed and about to sleep. I told her about the butt dial, and she said it was her friend Jack, who I had met, asking to borrow something. I thought it was odd but brushed it off.

A couple of weeks later, I was up there visiting her. I met a bunch of cool people, including this guy, Luke. After returning, I got a Facebook message from him saying, "Look, man, I hate to be the one to say this, but I think you're an awesome guy, and you don't deserve this to be happening to you. She's been cheating on you with this guy pretty soon after she started here."

I was devastated, but I had to hear it from her, so I called her and said, "Are you cheating on me?" She sighed heavily and said, "Well, at least I don't have to lie anymore." That guy's voice I had heard wasn't Jack. It was the guy she was cheating on me with. I just trusted her so much that I took her word for it.

Even though it was painful, I was grateful for Luke sending me that message. What's funny is that most of the people I met there who were her friends sided with me after the breakup. So, when I started going there that next semester, I had a group of friends to support me, and most of them still are my very close friends.

33. I Found Something in the Call List

A woman holding documents with one hand on her mouth | Source: Shutterstock

He broke up with me after eight years together, seemingly out of nowhere (I look back and see the signs now). He told me I was the cause of his severe depression, while I had no clue he was even struggling with mental health issues. I carried a considerable amount of guilt, and our breakup really affected me.

Our cell phones were on the same bill, and it would get sent in the mail. Three months after we broke up, I checked through the call list. There was a number he was calling at all hours of the day/night every day.

I decided to look back through previous bills from when we were together, and sure enough, I found the same number and volume of calls as far as six months before our breakup.

I called the number, and a woman answered. I confronted him, and he fessed up. I had a tough time processing the fact that someone I trusted for eight years would purposely make me feel like I was an awful human when it was him all along.

34. I Had Doubts

A woman looking at her phone | Source: Shutterstock

A woman looking at her phone | Source: Shutterstock

The husband of one of the women he was cheating on me with called me at work. At first, I didn't believe him and hung up. How could the man I spent the past eight years with, had two beautiful babies with, and suffered together the loss of one of those children do something so hurtful?? Still, a part of me had doubts.

He had affairs in other relationships, and we had a rocky patch early at the beginning where I suspected an affair but didn't have proof. I told my boss I felt sick and had to leave early. Then, I called this guy back and found out that my ex, his wife, and one of their friends were all sleeping together for about a year.

He had confronted my ex and told him that he was going to inform me, but my ex convinced him to wait a month since my mother had just died. I took my time coming home, confronted him, and told him to pack and leave.

Since I've pieced together a lot of what happened and all the lies he told me, I might have caught on to the affairs earlier if I had been in a different headspace.

I also found videos hidden on one of our computers and learned he was inviting women to our apartment while I was at work. He was supposed to watch our daughter. At that point, it put the headstone on any possibility of reconciliation.

June 1, 2018. A normal day. A Friday. My husband had kissed me goodbye and gone to work. I was cleaning the house for a company coming to stay for the weekend. The doorbell rang.

A man at my door introduced himself as the husband of a woman my husband worked with. He was there to tell me that my husband and his wife were having an affair. He had busted them about six months prior and had told his wife that she had to end the affair.

He thinks she did end it for about three months, but then they started up again. He called my husband when he found out they were at it again. On the phone, he told my husband to leave his wife alone, or else he would come and tell me everything that was happening.

My husband thought that he was bluffing. So, I was the last one to know. My husband never came home again. He got an Airbnb and a lawyer. The divorce was on December 21, 2018. We had been together for 24 years. It still hurts.

36. I Found Something on My Girlfriend's iPad

Four years ago, I was dating a girl who became distant and disinterested in a lot of things we both enjoyed together. Despite attempts to talk about it, she only grew more distant, became less available to hang out, and suddenly was working late a lot.

I started getting suspicious about cheating when she was on her phone nonstop. Again, I tried to talk about it, but she wouldn't engage. She also didn't want to break up with me for some reason.

I was going to end it, but one weekend, when she was seemingly unavailable, some mutual friends told me they spotted her with a man from her work. Coincidentally, she had also lent me her iPad, which was synced to her phone, so I saw many texts between those two over that weekend. They were talking about running away together, etc.

He was her supervisor and a married man. The mutual friends were also composed of her coworkers, and they reported them to HR. They were both forced to do training on not sleeping with coworkers, they were both denied promotion, his wife left him, and she moved overseas. I was devastated at that time, but karma got them.

He went to Hawaii for a business trip without his wife and kids. Like a good wife, I packed his clothes before he left and unpacked his dirty laundry when he returned home. I found a tiny pair of white cotton panties (no lace) in his suitcase.

He had recently dropped a lot of weight (>100 lbs) and played it off that he had bought them for himself. They had no label and were simple bikinis, so theoretically, they could have been men's as well.

It explained why the pretty brunette who followed him off the plane at the airport kept looking at my kids and me at the luggage carousel. I made sure he wore those panties at least once a week for the remaining few months we were together. I set out his clothes every day, and he couldn't protest.

Very unhealthy relationship. He was emotionally very abusive, and I was in a terrible place with my mental health. I found out at the ultrasound to determine the gender of our child. He was late, and I was scrolling on Facebook, waiting for my turn.

He was tagged in some photos in my news feed from a gig he had been at the previous weekend. A random girl was in all his pictures, and they were too close.

He turned up after I was called in. While the technician was printing the images, I told him I knew. He said I was making it up and that he'd never do that. He said I was lying to compensate for cheating on him, and so on. When I pointed out there were photos, he stormed out and left me there.

My Dad had turned up during the appointment (anticipating that my ex would have a bad reaction if we were having a girl, which he did, that was scattered through the cheating denials) and took me home.

I considered us broken up at that point and stopped all contact except texts related to the pregnancy. Mostly, I was relieved. I had concrete evidence that it wasn't in my head, and I finally managed to escape that relationship.

39. I Wasn't Expecting This

My (now ex) husband demanded constant access to all of my social media and cell phone messages and was constantly accusing me of cheating even though he had no reason to think I would do that. I had nothing to hide. I never even thought of cheating.

I watched our young kids 24/7 and didn't even have transportation since he "accidentally" totaled my car. One day, I handed over my phone to him to check for other men and asked to see his. He hesitated but then handed it over.

There was a long, inappropriate conversation with one of the teenage girls who works for him. He tells me he loves her and wants her to move in with us. I was in total shock. I dropped his phone, cracking it. He retaliated by breaking my laptop. He's a wonderful man, and I miss him every day. Sarcasm.

40. The Eye-Opening Experience

I was eight months pregnant with our second child then, and he wanted to visit his brother for the weekend. I asked my doctor if it was safe to travel, and she said it would be fine.

I told my husband I could go, but he said he was hoping just to have some time with his brother. I understood because a new baby makes it hard to spend quality time, but I asked if he could take our 3-year-old son to see his grandma and cousins.

He said they were planning on drinking and whatnot, and he wasn't sure it would be a good idea. I agreed, and he left for the weekend. After he left, I got a call from his best friend telling me he would be in town for the weekend and wanted to meet up.

It was not weird he called me because my husband was terrible at answering his phone. I told him that, unfortunately, my husband was visiting back home. Bad timing. His best friend said, "Ok, I'm going to call you back," and hung up very abruptly.

It turned out that the best friend caught his wife cheating with my husband a few months ago, and he gave them a chance to make it right. I don't know why. He didn't tell me but threatened to do so if they didn't stop.

Well, they didn't stop, and he told me. The worst part was that my husband's family knew and never once told me. These people were my family for five years. It has been almost ten years, and I'm so much happier, but it was an eye-opening experience.

Catching your partner cheating on you with someone else is one of the worst things to experience in a relationship, especially if you have been with that person for years. However, many admitted they were glad they found out because it saved them from a meaningless relationship. What would you do if you ever found yourself in a similar situation? Would you expose your partner or let them go?
