Mark Wahlberg made fans swoon with delight following his recent social media upload, as he looks in good shape. This follows after he gained weight for a movie role two years ago.

Wahlberg appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in April 2021. On the show, he talked about his then-upcoming movie, "Father Stu," wherein he plays a former fighter and becomes a priest.

The movie actor, who turned 50 years old in June of that year, revealed that he would be doing boxing scenes in the film while adding that he would also be putting on some weight after completing the boxing scenes:

"I'm challenging myself to put on 30 pounds for the next six weeks."

The former rapper eventually reached his targeted weight gain as he shared a before and after slide on Instagram in May 2021. On one snap, he was pictured all ripped, and the next image showed him with a belly. "From left photo 3 weeks ago to this, now," he captioned his post.

However, the Academy Award-nominated star admitted in an April 2023 interview that he would "probably not" do that again, adding, "It took quite a toll on me."

"I mean, I've fluctuated my weight from 215 lbs. to 137 lbs., which is pretty extreme."

While some were left in awe of the Hollywood star's workout routine, others seemed confused. "I do dream big at 3:30 am..." One person asked, "Why 3:30 AM?" alongside clapping hands emojis.

Someone else asked the same question, asking why Wahlberg does not at least start his workout sessions at 7:00 a.m. "I mean, more power to him. But it just seems like he doesn't have to run to the office or anything, so I'm just confused as to why so early?"

After growing up a troubled kid, the "Shooter" star revealed in a May 2014 interview that he wants to be a good role model for his children. The actor said he cannot tell them to pursue an education when he has not done so himself because they would ask why he does not have a diploma.

However, the proud father of four divulged that he is "proud" to have the diploma and that if he wants to further his studies one day, he could do it.
