Ryan Reynolds Randomly Ran into His Own Brother in New York City Streets: ‘We Practically Collided’
Ryan Reynolds recently bumped into his brother, Terry Reynolds, while strolling around New York City. The two took the opportunity to snap a selfie, marking the coincidental moment.
In a city as big as New York, running into people doesn't often happen, especially not to Ryan Reynolds. However, fate planned for him to see family recently.
While walking the streets of New York, Ryan bumped into his brother, Terry, and had a chance to take a photo. Terry shared the unexpected moment on Instagram, posting a selfie with his brother.
The duo happily smiled at the camera while wearing matching navy blue caps. The actor donned dark sunglasses, while his brother wore glasses. Terry shared:
"I'm not sure what the odds are of running into your own brother while doing separate things in NY for the day. 8.5 million people and we practically collided."
The pair share an undeniable bond, and in addition to being brothers, they have a history that many would envy. Ryan once talked about his brother in an interview, revealing that the older Reynolds saved his life. When he was 12 and feeling rebellious, Ryan got an ear piercing. His brother had already warned him that their father would be furious, but still, the actor continued with his plans.
After getting the piercing, Ryan prepared himself to be scolded. However, he was surprised to see that his brother and other siblings also got pierced so their dad wouldn't focus all the anger on Ryan. He said:
"My brothers were really trying to protect me in this moment."
The "Deadpool" star grew up with three brothers and enjoyed being surrounded by boys because of their chaoticness at home. He also learned a lot from his siblings, including how to patch and drywall at eight years old.
Admittedly, they learned how to fix a hole in the wall within 15 minutes after destroying it. "That's part of the reason I don't want boys," he said. Fortunately, Ryan and his wife Blake Lively were blessed with three beautiful daughters, as well as a newborn whose gender they are yet to reveal.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively welcomed James in December 2014, Inez in 2015, and Betty in 2018. They raise their four babies -- their newest addition was born in February 2023 -- in a $2 million home.
