Rosalynn Carter’s Kids, Grandkids, & Great-Grandkids Attend Her Memorial Service – Photos

A commemoration of the life of the esteemed former First Lady Rosalynn Carter took place in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 28, 2023. During the event, her family, comprising children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, shared heartfelt words in honor of their cherished family member.

When Rosalynn Carter passed away, many of her family members, friends, fans, and people around the world were devastated. She was a woman of passion who championed mental health during her different stints in public office.

Recently, Rosalynn's family, including her grandkids, who were pallbearers, held a private tribute service to remember her life. There was also a motorcade before the service that routed from the Carter Presidential Center to Glenn Memorial Church, the location of the service.

On November 28, 2023, a gathering brought together various political figures, with notable attendees such as President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, former President Bill Clinton, and former Secretary Hillary Clinton. Additionally, the event saw the presence of former First Ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Melania Trump, and numerous others.

Rosalynn's great-grandkids read scriptures, while tributes were given by her grandson, Jason Carter, her good friend and aide, Kathryn Cade, and journalist Judy Woodruff. Her daughter, Amy Carter, also delivered a reading during the service.

Rosalynn died on November 19 in her Georgia residence. She was surrounded by her family when she took her last breath at the age of 96. A few days before, the Carter family revealed that Rosalynn had already entered hospice care at home due to her declining health. However, they did not disclose more details.

Shortly after her passing, Rosalynn's son, Chip Carter, paid tribute to his late mother through a family statement posted on The Carter Center website. In his address, he honored the wonderful woman his mother was and the advocacies she cared for, including mental health.

Rosalynn's husband of 77 years, former President Jimmy Carter, also praised his wife in a tribute. He said:

"Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished. She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me."

Although devastating news, Rosalynn's death brings a recollection of fond moments and lasting changes she has made for the country. Undoubtedly, she was loved by many people.
