A man garnered mixed reactions online after he posted a video of a flight attendant spoon-feeding his 5-year-old son. When the video was filmed, the father and son were traveling in business class.

Flight attendants are known to provide exemplary service, especially to business class and first class guests. That's the type of service a father and son received while onboard a Singapore Airlines flight to Tokyo, Japan.

The proud dad, Michael Rutherford, filmed a quick video of a flight attendant sitting to feed his 5-year-old son. On the video, he wrote subtitles that read: "What would you do if, while flying Singapore Airlines to Toyko, Japan, you look back and saw your 5-year-old son being spoon-fed his dinner by a flight attendant?"

The 5-Year-Old Couldn't Be Bothered

In the clip, the 5-year-old boy couldn't be bothered and focused on watching videos on his gadget. He had headphones on as the flight attendant spoon-fed him several times.

People saw this as spoiled behavior, as the boy never looked at the flight attendant while she fed him. As it was a quick clip, they judged the situation based on what they could watch.

From there, viewers decided to take the video as it was rather than demanding the entire story. They felt it was inappropriate for the dad to film the whole scene rather than feeding his son himself so the flight attendant could get on with her job.

The clip, which was originally posted on Instagram, quickly garnered popularity. Others praised the flight attendant, while some slammed the father and son duo.

Others Felt There was More to the 5-Second Clip

"Spoiled brat in the making," one person wrote upon seeing the video. "Absolutely pathetic and dehumanizing to the poor FA. Entitlement at its finest," another echoed.

"You’re showing the whole world you’re a shameful parent…" a woman slammed. "Kudos to flight attendant. Shame of selfish and lazy parents. First they splash 5K on a business class seat for a 5yo and can’t even take 10min to feed their own child," said an angry man.

One person said that while the flight attendant could have volunteered, the least the dad could do was teach their child to say thank you. "Parents should at least teach their children to say thank you and at least look at the people with smile when getting served," wrote a viewer.

People couldn't understand why the dad sat there and filmed the process when what was happening condoned spoiled behavior. "This is totally shameful - these people are not your servants," someone commented.

While many slammed the father and the boy for how they acted, others defended them. "He’s enjoying and the flight attendant is giving him service so let him enjoy," read a comment. "She probably misses her children," another guessed.

Regardless of the comments, people praised the flight attendant for her service. "Little man is living his best life! Kudos to the awesome flight attendant!!" an admirer shared.

Ultimately, the 5-year-old's dad never made a follow-up video after causing a stir online. He commended Singapore Airlines for their business class experience and went on to share the Japanese adventure he had with his son instead.

What do you think of the situation? Would you have allowed the flight attendant to feed your child, or would you have stepped in to intervene?

While the father-and-son duo received top-notch service from Singapore Airlines, one mom wasn't as lucky. In a contrasting story, a flight attendant forced a pregnant mom to clean up after her toddler's spill as it reportedly posed a safety hazard.
