Farrah Fawcett died at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 62. The actress passed away on June 25, 2009, from anal cancer. She left behind her longtime lover, Ryan O'Neal.

The star of "Charlie's Angels" and O'Neal found love in 1979, during a period when she was still married to Lee Majors. Majors, while away filming, had requested O'Neal to check on his wife. Despite this initial circumstance, the two fell in love and shared several decades together.

Fawcett and the actor had a son, Redmond O'Neal, born in 1985. Although the couple separated in 1997, they continued to co-parent their child. However, they reconciled in 2001 when O'Neal was diagnosed with leukemia, and during this challenging time, Fawcett took care of him. Fawcett and O'Neal were in love until the end, and they held hands as the actress took her last breath in 2009.

On December 8, 2023, O'Neal departed this world, too, at the age of 82. He died at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California. His death certificate indicates that his cause of demise was congestive heart after he suffered from cardiomyopathy for years.

Ryan O'Neal left behind four kids, Tatum, Griffin, Patrick, and Redmond, and five grandchildren. He was buried on December 23, 2023, next to Fawcett. The burial site for O'Neal, as indicated on his death certificate, is at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park. The graveyard service was attended by Patrick, O'Neal's ex-wife, Leigh Taylor Young, and Fawcett's best friend, Alana Stewart.

Patrick had previously eulogized his father as his hero, a Hollywood legend and international movie star whom he always looked up to. He added that his death was difficult for him. Tatum also shared a picture of her and his dad on Instagram upon his death. The picture was from when father and daughter starred in "Paper Moon" together. She captioned the post, "I love you dad."

Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal are now side by side even in death. When Fawcett died, the actor had said he loved her so much and would miss her. Now, as much as the couple never got married, they rest next to each other in death, united by their deep love, care, and affection for one another.
