Jamie Lee Curtis, 65, Stirs Up Online Discussion after Declaring She Is ‘Not Dead’ in New Post

Jamie Lee Curtis recently posted an Instagram photo claiming she was still alive. Her share came a few days after false news about her reported passing circulated the internet.

Although often active on Instagram, Jamie Lee Curtis surprised her Instagram followers with a post of herself alongside the caption, "NOT DEAD." In her photo, Lee Curtis looked beautiful and flawless with silver-gray hair while wearing black glasses.

Fans and social media users alike began to wonder the reason behind the "Freaky Friday" actress' post. "Someone said you were dead?" one person asked. "Omg did someone make up fake news about you," another wrote in the comments section. "I just don't get why people bloody do that ugh."

Another Instagram user admittedly claimed Lee Curtis' post made her think of the worst. "My heart sank the moment this photo popped up not gunna lie [sic]," the person said. Despite Lee's shocking caption, many still admired and praised her timeless beauty. "Alive & beautiful," one person wrote.

As it turned out, some Facebook users claimed Lee Curtis had passed away. "We all loved her movies," one person said. "She'll be deeply missed." The same false information circulated on YouTube three months ago.

The Hollywood star, who turned 65 in November 2023, previously revealed that she has accepted her age. In an Instagram post, Curtis Lee shared a photo of herself alongside a caption from the day after her birthday.

Previously, she also shared that she would send gift baskets with reminders of the song "Losing My Hair" to her friends who turned 64.

As for the actress, she celebrated her senior years with a different milestone – being 24 years sober. "I don't drink," she said, after spiraling into a painkiller addiction. She also sees her 60s in a positive light as a learner, reader, and listener.

The beautiful part about aging, she said, is that some unimportant things fade. Through time, she realized that every day is a gift and only the valuable things should occupy a space in her mind.

Jamie Lee Curtis has achieved much at her age. Besides a colorful career, she also has a four-decade marriage with Christopher Guest, who has supported her through ups and downs. They also have two adopted kids, whom they raised in a loving home.
