"I feel really fortunate that they are growing up in a time [in which] the first president my daughter knows is Barack Obama," she previously disclosed. "That's an incredible gift."

Then in the sixth grade, Stella told her mom that all her classmates had seen the show but her. At first, they watched the show together, but eventually, Ellen felt that she couldn't watch it again.

"Mamy of the episodes I was seeing for the first time with Stella. It's pretty cool to be a part of something that lasted this long," she said of the show that continues to be a cultural phenomenon. Ellen Pompeo left the beloved television show in 2022 after nearly 20 years.
