Jennifer Aniston Reveals How She Wants Fans to Honor Late Co-star Matthew Perry’s Passing

During the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards, Jennifer Aniston expressed her happiness to be in a place where talented people in the industry can be honored. She also highlighted how she wants fans to honor his good friend, Matthew Perry, after his tragic passing.
"Celebrate him," she said. Perry's impact in the entertainment industry lives on as he brought laughter into millions of homes through his iconic role as Chandler Bing on "Friends."
She also talked about Perry during a recent interview, revealing that the late actor would like to be remembered by those who knew him. "I hope he can know that he was loved in a way he never thought he was," she said. Aniston described him as a healthy and joyous person who was focusing on living his best life.
Following his passing in 2023, Aniston fondly reminisced on Perry's impact on her life. "We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be. For Matty, he KNEW he loved to make people laugh," she wrote.
Perry's other "Friends" co-stars also took to various platforms to express their grief and pay tribute to the late actor. However, his friends, including Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, also released a joint statement.
"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family," their statement read. "There is so much to say, but right now, we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss."

Matthew Perry passed away on October 28, 2023, at 54 years old. He was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home hot tub with no signs of foul play. Although there were efforts to rescue the actor, he was declared dead before firefighters arrived.
Months later, his autopsy report was made public, revealing that Perry passed due to acute effects of ketamine. Other factors that contributed to his death included coronary artery disease, drowning, and more.
