1. The Big Age Gap

This Redditor explained that he was a 17-year-old boy who was the youngest of five siblings. He had three sisters, aged 30, 24, and 22, and two brothers, aged 29 and 27. However, he had always been aware of the age gap between him and his siblings.

The gap between him and the second youngest was only five years, but with the other siblings, the 17-year-old had settled on the fact that he might have been an unplanned child. However, being the last-born came with its perks; he got all the attention and special treatment from his family and loved how everyone nurtured and spoiled him.

But out of all his brothers and sisters, he had a special connection with his eldest sister, Hannah. She was always there for him, cared for him the best she could, and Hannah would gladly step in when his mother was not around.

The Redditor always saw Hannah as a mother figure because he felt a bit more distanced from his parents, as they were much older. Unfortunately, when the 17-year-old was eight, his father died, and it took a significant toll on him.

He had to face the same pain again when he lost his mother. She was sick and had gotten worse with time, but the loss took an even bigger toll on him. With his parents gone, his oldest sister decided to sit him down and tell him something that changed everything.

It finally clicked that his parents had been distant so as to allow his sister to take on a motherly role. She was always there to assist him with his homework, give him advice, and help him with many of the challenges he faced.

5. The Right Time

This Redditor kept the story of how he discovered his brother was his father pretty brief. He said he had been living with his grandparents, but he clashed a lot with his grandmother. One random day after dinner, his brother told him that he was his dad. He said it felt like the time was right for the Redditor to finally know the truth.

The brother asked the young man to move in with him, and he agreed, but he still got along with his grandparents and only lived ten minutes away from them. "I even still call them Mom and Dad because it would be really weird not to after 16 years," he added. His brother had always been present in his life. However, he never got to know his mother.
