Grace Kelly's Granddaughter Inherits Her Iconic Beauty – Her Photos after Losing 28 KG
The world lost the icon Grace Kelly over four decades ago in a tragic accident. However, her legacy lives on through her granddaughter. After shedding nearly 30 kilograms, the 26-year-old revealed a stunning resemblance to the late princess in more ways than one.
In 1982, Grace Kelly's life was cut short in a horrific car accident. However, the actress-turned-princess was seemingly reincarnated through her granddaughter, Camille Gottlieb.
Stunning pictures capture Camille's remarkable transformation after losing 28 kilograms. The photos further highlight her uncanny similarities to her iconic grandmother.
The Tragic Death of Camille Gottlieb's Grandmother
Grace Kelly was often regarded as one of famed director Alfred Hitchcock's muses. She was one of the most beloved Hollywood film actresses of the 1940s and 1950s. In 1955, she won an Oscar for her performance in "The Country Girl."

However, in 1956, the actress exchanged her status as showbiz royalty for real-life royalty. She married Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, becoming Princess Grace.
Sadly, in September 1982, the public was shocked to learn that Princess Grace had been in a car accident. The Monaco royal family released a statement revealing she had suffered severe injuries.
Princess Grace was on her to the palace when the accident occurred near Monte Carlo. She had lost control of the car after the brakes failed. Her 10-year-old Rover tumbled 100 feet down a ravine and turned over several times before coming to rest in a garden.
A witness reported that the car began zigzagging sometime before the crash. A heartbreaking statement from the royal palace announced that Princess Grace had died a day after the accident on September 13, 1982.

The news of her death was unexpected. Previous reports indicated that the princess was in stable condition, despite having broken ribs, as well as a broken leg and collarbone. Unfortunately, Princess Grace suffered a brain hemorrhage.
A postmortem examination concluded that it was the same massive brain hemorrhage that caused her to lose control of the car. Her condition worsened throughout the next morning and became irreversible by the afternoon.
Princess Grace was survived by three children: her son, Prince Albert II, and two daughters, Princess Caroline and Princess Stéphanie. Princess Stéphanie, who was 17 at the time, was in the car with her mother and also suffered multiple injuries.
Princess Grace's accident led to much speculation, just like Princess Diana's accident 15 years later. One "horrible" rumor that emerged suggested that Princess Stéphanie was the driver in the accident that killed her mother.

Another rumor was that the mother and daughter had been arguing. It was allegedly over Princess Stéphanie's plans to marry her then-boyfriend Paul. He was the racing driver son of French film star Jean-Paul Belmondo.
In October 2002, 20 years later, Princess Stéphanie broke her silence. She spoke about the car crash and addressed the accusations that she had killed her mother.
Two people saw Princess Grace at the wheel on the morning of her accident. However, the first person at the accident scene told the police he saw a woman lying still in the back seat. He added that a young girl was groaning in pain in the front.
"I was not driving, that's clear," Princess Stéphanie stated. "In fact, I was thrown around inside the car like my mother, who was catapulted onto the back seat. The passenger door was completely smashed in; I got out on the only accessible side, the driver's," she continued.

Princess Stéphanie refused to discuss what she and her mother were discussing at the time of the accident. She said the conversation was strictly between the two of them. She added that she wanted to keep certain secrets, images, and things about this story that belong to her heart private.
Princess Stéphanie insisted she had done all she could to stop the car. "You cannot imagine the suffering I have endured, and that I endure still. So when I read in the papers that I killed my mother, it is quite simply horrible," she added.
She spoke out after waiting in vain for her family to defend her. However, she could not take it any longer. "I just want to say, 'Stop! Let me raise my children in tranquillity, and go forward with my own life in serenity,'" Princess Stéphanie stated.
Camille Gottlieb's Unusual Upbringing
Following her mother's death, Princess Stéphanie went on to have three children. The royal welcomed her son Louis and daughter Pauline during her one-year marriage to Daniel Ducruet. Princess Stéphanie later welcomed her youngest, Camille.
Camille was born on July 15, 1998, in Monte Carlo. While everyone knew her mother, little was known about her father. In fact, he was not named on Camille's birth certificate. The mystery man was only revealed decades later by Camille on social media.
Jean Raymond Gottlieb, Camille's father, was a former security guard at the Palais Princier de Monaco. Princess Stéphanie and Camille's father had a brief relationship. However, Camille maintained close ties with both of them.
She spoke fondly of her parents, saying, "My father is my right lung, [and] my mother my left lung. [...] They always told me, 'We wanted you, and our happiness is that you are here.'"
After welcoming Camille, Princess Stéphanie was reportedly banished to a ski resort. There, she was to wait for the dust to settle following the scandal of her relationship with Jean Raymond.
When Camille was just three years old, her mother found love again. It was with a married Swiss elephant trainer and animal tamer, Franco Knie. This relationship led to an unconventional chapter in Camille's upbringing.
Princess Stéphanie and her children reportedly lived in a trailer with her new lover who worked in a circus. The family allegedly moved around with the circus until Princess Stéphanie and Franco's relationship ended a year later.
Eventually, Princess Stéphanie and her children moved back to her family's palace. However, although Camille was born into a royal family, she is not in the line of succession, as her parents never married.

Camille was feeling emotionally lost and experiencing anxiety attacks when she sought medical advice. This led to her Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnosis.
"I was going through my life but didn't ask myself any questions. I was actually experiencing an inner conflict and not feeling happy about myself. I then decided to take my life in charge. In a few months, I lost 28 kilos [...]," Camille revealed during a 2022 interview.
In addition to inheriting her grandmother's beauty, Camille also mirrors Princess Grace in her sense of style. Princess Grace was renowned for her impeccable fashion sense and was often adorned with luxurious jewelry.

Camille was asked during an interview if she thought she resembled her grandmother. She responded in part, "It's quite complicated to say since I've never known her. From what I know, she was a great lady, very classy [...]. Many people say that I actually look like my mother. I don't quite know."

Camille Gottlieb's Philanthropic Passions
Despite her lavish lifestyle, Camille has devoted much time to worthy causes. In 2019, she and her mother handed out gifts to residents in a home for the elderly. This act of kindness had the local media dubbing her "Monaco's darling."
Camille was also involved with the Monegasque Red Cross, where she served as one of the board of directors. This charity led by her uncle, Prince Albert II of Monaco, was focused on offering humanitarian aid.
In 2017, she co-founded Be Safe Monaco. The NGO aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of drunk driving and was inspired by a great personal loss. One of Camille's friends had died during a drunk-driving accident after an evening at the Méridien Hotel. Deeply marked by the tragedy, Camille decided to take a stand against drunk driving.
Be Safe Monaco guided young people and provided free breathalyzer tests. The NGO also offered free rides to those trying to get home after drinking too much.
Camille's philanthropic passions were another way she was just like her grandmother. Princess Grace was a strong advocate for children's rights. She even founded AMADE Mondiale, an organization dedicated to protecting children globally.
Camille Gottlieb's life is a testament to the enduring legacy of her grandmother. From inheriting Princess Grace's iconic beauty and style to dedicating herself to philanthropy, she continues to honor her family's heritage while forging her own path.
