'Growing Pains' Star Kirk Cameron, 53, Welcomes Grandbaby with Name Meaning 'Dream': Details & 10 Photos

Kirk Cameron became a grandfather after his daughter welcomed a baby with her husband. The doting grandpa took to Instagram to share a few glimpses of the precious newborn and reveal her name, which means "dream."

Congratulations to famous actor and evangelist Kirk Cameron, 53, and his daughter, Ahna Cameron Bower. Ahna recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl with her husband, Austin Bower, adding an adorable new addition to their beautiful family. Earlier today, August 1, the patriarch of the Cameron family announced the joyous news on Instagram.

The excited grandpa shared a carousel post of 10 images from the day his granddaughter was born. One picture shows him and his wife (Ahna's mom), Chelsea Noble, eagerly awaiting their granddaughter's arrival at the hospital, with Cameron holding onto their dog.

Another image displays a heartwarming moment where Ahna is seen lying in the hospital bed with her mom, Chelsea, at her side — both of them beaming with happiness and pride. The doting grandmother protectively holds onto the baby as she leans in next to her daughter for the photo.

The fourth picture shows the happy new mom cradling her newborn baby close to her chest as the little girl sleeps peacefully with her tiny arms stretched out.

Next comes a swoon-worthy close-up snap of the new baby moments after she was born. She is snuggled up in a blanket and has a cute little beanie placed atop her head.

Another sweet photo shows Kirk's daughter, Olivia Cameron, wearing her auntie hat as she holds onto her niece while smiling for the camera in the hospital room.

Amid the carousel of images, comes another adorable photo of the newborn baby girl. This time she is sporting a white and beige baby onesie and a white cotton headband that's in the shape of a bow.

The following image is another picture of the precious baby in the same outfit. In this photo, she smiles happily for the camera as she lies down on a comfy mini-mattress that has a tag attached to it with her birthing details.

Another photo shows the baby letting out a big yawn with her eyes closed as someone wearing a blue sweater nestles her in their arms.

Last but not least, comes the final photo, which shows one of Kirk's sons, Jack Cameron, being a loving uncle as he holds the baby while smiling down at her.

From the heartfelt caption that accompanied Kirk's post, it was revealed that the precious baby's name is Maya Jeanne Noble Bower.

"Did you hear the news? My wife and I are new grandparents! Wow!! 🤯 Our hearts are filled to overflowing. Our beautiful baby girl @ahnacameronbower & her husband @austinbbower just had a beautiful baby girl, Maya Jeanne Noble Bower, and we can hardly wait to spend every minute with her and shower her with love!❤️❤️," Kirk penned.

The "Growing Pains" star went on to express, "What a miraculous blessing new life is🙏🏼🙌🏼 We love you, Maya Jeanne." Matching the happy grandpa's level of excitement, Kirk's sister, Candace Cameron Bure, commented, "Great aunt Candace can't wait to meet her!!"

According to online sources, baby Maya's name is most commonly associated with Indian traditions. In Sanskrit, which is the sacred language of Hinduism, Maya means "dream" or "illusion."

However, it is also thought to mean "water" in Hebrew. In this culture, the name is derived from "Mayim," which has the same meaning. Additionally, sources report that Maya could also convey "from God."

According to words shared by her doting dad in his autobiography, "Still Growing," Ahna had desired to become a loving mom from the time she was a little girl.

A snippet from his memoir reads, "Her biggest dream is to be a good mom. Ahna has a natural compassion and tenderness that would've inspired Mother Teresa. And she's such a girl — hats, gloves, heels, creams, nail polish and perfumes. She's 8 going on 28!"

Kirk and Ahna, who is a 5'5" model signed to Donna Baldwin Agency, have always shared a close bond. From the many posts he has published on his Instagram page of the precious father-daughter moments they have shared, it becomes obvious that Ahna means the world to her dad.

A standout post from January 2022 that Kirk shared included an array of beautiful photos from Ahna and Austin's wedding. One picture showed the doting father proudly walking his daughter down the aisle.

Another depicted the two amid a conversation on Ahna's big day, where her dad could be seen looking at his daughter with nothing but love and pride in his eyes.

The last two showed Ahna and Kirk waltzing around the dance floor during the father-daughter dance which took place on a wooden floor that was positioned outside.

Kirk had shared these heartwarming images in honor of Ahna's birthday. "Today is my daughter's birthday… Ahna Jeanne Bower, I love you and am so proud of the woman you have become and are still becoming! You are beautiful, thoughtful, insightful, funny, full of life, and always the life of the party! 🎊🎉🎊," expressed a part of the loving father's caption.

At the end of his message, Kirk also mentioned Ahna's husband, Austin, expressing that he wished the two of them "the best day," as they celebrated Ahna's birthday together.

Austin, who is a financial planning and analysis manager at All Aboard America with a Colorado State University education, and Ahna have been together for a while. The duo had been dating for some years before getting engaged and married.

The Colorado State University grad seems to also be in good standing with Ahna's dad, as he was featured in one of Kirk's famous Ahna birthday posts in 2018. Kirk shared a sweet picture of Ahna, who had turned 19, and Austin enjoying a delicious-looking birthday breakfast together.

Kirk Cameron revealed that Austin had come over that morning to help him make a special breakfast for Ahna. Austin had also come with lovely red roses to gift the birthday girl on her special day.
