"I'm desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat, but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long," Stewart wrote in his heartfelt Instagram post.
"My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully, we'll now be returning in 2025, and I hope to see you there," the Instagram post continued.
Two days later, Stewart released another statement on social media, sharing more unfortunate news. The messages continued to pour in, with one fan saying, "Prayers to you for a speedy recovery," while another added, "Get well soon!!! I am going to pray to Saint Expedite for your speedy recovery. Blessings, Rod."

Rod Stewart Clarified 'Numbered Days' Remark as His Wife Shared Insight on His Health
In the July 2024 interview where Stewart said his days were "numbered," he acknowledged his time was limited but expressed no fear. He noted that everyone eventually faces the same fate and planned to enjoy his remaining years to the fullest.

Stewart later elaborated on his remark, humorously adding, "I say few — probably another 15 [years]," providing some relief to worried fans. The singer also reflected on how aging had changed his lifestyle, stating that he could no longer stay up all night and get drunk like he did in the '70s and '80s while still maintaining his voice.
He emphasized that he now had to protect his voice before and after every show, adding, "The older you get, the more you have to do that." Despite these changes, Stewart insisted that he still "went mad" with his band and dancers after every performance, encouraging them to drink and celebrate.

He explained that the environment was lively, with balloons dropping from the ceiling, costume changes, and everyone on their feet during his sets. "You're talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians, and I make them drink. We absolutely love it," Stewart said.

Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, later provided an encouraging update on his health. After the 79-year-old singer had to cancel and reschedule several dates, his wife posted a photo of him following his recovery. On her shared TV show "Loose Women," she also reassured fans that her husband was fitter than ever.

When asked about Stewart's comment that his days were numbered, Lancaster reportedly called the remark "bizarre." She explained that Stewart was full of energy, sprinting around when most people his age would be slowing down.
Lancaster also revealed that Stewart was planning to set a world record for the fastest sprint by a 79-year-old, showcasing his commitment to fitness and longevity. She added, "His motto is, 'Keep your legs strong and they'll carry you through life.' It's all about fitness, health, and longevity."
In June 2024, Stewart appeared in excellent health as he joined King Charles III and other celebrities, including David Beckham, at the King's Foundation Awards. Despite his own health challenges, His Majesty maintained a busy schedule, and Stewart, along with Lancaster, attended an event at St. James's Palace in London.

During the event, Stewart, who has been knighted, humorously teased Beckham about his potential knighthood and, in a light-hearted moment, swore on stage. "I did swear, didn't I? Well, there's always got to be someone getting the party started!" Stewart later joked about the incident.

On August 4, Lancaster shared a photo of her and Stewart celebrating an anniversary, proving that Stewart still had plenty of life in him. The singer looked dashing in a striped suit and a black and white polka-dotted shirt.
By August 22, Stewart announced on Instagram that he would be performing at the 3rd Annual Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival Beach Party, marking his return to the stage where he belonged.
Reflecting on his life, Stewart said, "I have had a good time and a good life, and I've enjoyed myself, so I wouldn't ask for anything more. Probably good health and good health for my children and happiness… and Celtic doing well."

In the face of health challenges and his own acknowledgment of aging, Rod Stewart remained resilient and full of life. With the support of his wife and the encouragement of his fans, the singer continued to defy expectations, returning to the stage with the same energy and passion that has defined his legendary career.
