Kirk wrapped it all up with a heartfelt blessing for his granddaughter, "Welcome to the world, Maya Jeanne Noble Bower. May God bless and protect you always! 🙏🏼❤️"
Kirk, once Hollywood's golden boy, was a charming teen heartthrob whose face was taped inside countless school lockers, all thanks to his breakout role in the 1980s hit series, "Growing Pains."

But that was then. Today, Hollywood looks at him with disdain—and sometimes even mockery—ever since he traded in his youthful celebrity status for a much different path: becoming a vocal evangelical Christian.

Among his fellow stars, he's viewed as something of a pariah, and to some, even a bit of a jerk. Yet Kirk wears this reputation as a badge of honor. "I'm kind of a Hollywood freak," he confessed in an interview. "I didn't really turn out the way most people do growing up in this industry."
His transformation came early. At just 17 years old, he was still riding high on the success of the Emmy-winning series. At the time, Kirk was a self-proclaimed atheist, raised in a family that never set foot in a church.
Then came an unexpected turn. After attending a church service with a friend's father, he experienced a spiritual awakening. According to Kirk, he realized he was "headed to hell," and soon after, he became "born again."

His new faith led him to marry "Growing Pains" co-star Chelsea Noble, in 1991. Together, they adopted four children, had two more of their own, and founded Camp Firefly in Georgia, a retreat for terminally ill children and their families.

Kirk's career took a sharp detour from mainstream entertainment, diving almost exclusively into Christian media. He became the star of the "Left Behind" franchise, a series of apocalyptic Christian thrillers that sold 65 million books and did quite well in Christian movie circles.
He also headlined the 2008 film "Fireproof," which became the highest-grossing independent film that year, portraying a firefighter who saves strangers but fails to save his marriage.

Beyond acting, Kirk has dedicated himself to spreading his faith. In 2002, he co-founded a radio and television ministry, "The Way of the Master," with New Zealand preacher Ray Comfort. Together, they've worked to inspire Christians to evangelize, further endearing Kirk to his devoted, traditional Christian base.
Kirk Cameron's Hollywood journey may have taken an unexpected turn, but one thing is certain—he's unapologetically forging his own path.
