In 2002, while shooting a movie in Miami, Damon walked into a bar where his future wife, Luciana Barroso, was working as a barmaid. While the "Interstellar" actor said he noticed her because she had a light on her, Barroso joked that there were lights everywhere because it was a club.

Although Damon had a moment of clarity when he saw his wife for the first time, fans shattered it by recognizing him and asking him for photos and autographs. Some even became aggressive when Damon refused.

Because of this, he hid behind the bar, asking to remain there for the night. He told Barroso he had seen her earlier that night and had wanted to talk to her. She told him he'd have to work with her if he wanted to stay behind the bar.
