Gia Zavala Damon’s Dad Matt Damon Paused His Career after Her Birth
In August 2008, Hollywood leading man Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Bozán, welcomed their second daughter, whom they named Gia Zavala Damon. Like her sisters, Gia gets her parents' unconditional love and attention.
Although Gia is the second child her parents biologically share, she is the third oldest of four girls due to her mother having had a child, Alexia Barroso, before she married Matt.
The family appears to be a close-knit unit, and when Gia was born, her father took a break from work to be with his family. That is a testament to the importance that Matt and Bozán put into raising their girls.

Gia Zavala Damon Is Adored by Her Dad, Who Felt "Outnumbered" after Her Birth
A representative of Matt announced that the actor and his wife had welcomed another baby girl into their family. Gia Zavala was born on August 20, 2008, and was reported as being a "healthy baby girl." Both parents were also noted as doing great and being in high spirits.
With Gia Zavala being the fourth female member of the family and no sons, Matt jokingly referred to him as the only male family member staying, "I'm so outnumbered down here, it's crazy." Nevertheless, he was still excited about adding to his family and even decided to take a break from filming for the rest of the year.
Gia Zavala is adored by her father, who tries to spend as much time with her and her siblings as he can. She is also blessed to have a dad like Matt, whose friend George Clooney described as an exceptional father. He further praised Matt, saying, "He absolutely adores those kids. He's doing it really well."

Gia Zavala Damon Enjoys Outdoor Excursions Away from the Spotlight
Despite being the daughter of one of the most famous people in the world, Gia Zavala is rarely seen in official public appearances with her father. Nevertheless, the fourteen-year-old enjoys going out with her family behind the scenes.
Privately, Matt spends some quality time with his now brood of four girls. In October 2012, the actor was spotted on a trick-or-treat around New York with his two daughters, Gia and Isabella. The girls wore princess attires and walked around the city with their king and queen, who occasionally had to carry Gia following closely behind.
Fast forward to 2019, and on Gia's 11th birthday, the father-daughter pair was seen at Disneyland celebrating the milestone. Some of Gia's friends accompanied them for the day out. The group participated in several activities, including riding the Incredicoaster and the Radiator Springs Racers.

The following year, they were spotted soaking in the sun at a beach in Malibu. They were with the rest of the family and some family friends this time. Again, the family looked to be in good spirits, which is how they usually are.
Gia Zavala Has Lived in Three Different Countries
Besides spending most of her life in the United States, Gia has also had experience living in other countries when her family takes time away from Hollywood. In 2018, she traveled across the ocean to Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. While there, the family lived next to Chris Hemsworth's house, whose wife is good friends with Bozán.
Two years later, when the coronavirus started to make headway and borders had to be closed, the Damon family moved from France, where Matt was shooting a movie, to the small town of Dalkey, Ireland. Due to the quarantine measures, the family stayed in the country for a considerable time.

Matt Damon gives a lot of credit to his wife for raising their children. According to Bozán, the couple has tried raising their children to be confident and compassionate.
Speaking to Vogue Australia, she said, "The thing for us has always been that just we try really hard to constantly talk about self-esteem and compassion and hope that will carry on. We're not always going to be able to be there when they have to make critical decisions in their life."
