Heidi Klum, who always goes for the unexpected when it comes to her Halloween costumes, recently broke down her "out of this world" look, which had fans blown away.
The Queen of Halloween, Heidi Klum, 51, strikes again with a costume inspired by iconic director Steven Spielberg's classic film "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial." Fans are in awe of how Klum, who was joined by her musician husband Tom Kaulitz at her annual Halloween party, manages to outdo herself with her costumes every year.

Channeling her creative prowess into a female rendition of E.T., Klum's transformation was nothing short of breathtaking, as she embodied every detail of the extraterrestrial with remarkable precision.

Her look featured the character's wrinkled skin texture, a glowing fingertip, and large, glassy blue eyes. Adding a feminine twist to her portrayal, Klum donned a curly blonde wig, which was made from both real human hair and synthetic hair. Completing the look, the supermodel sported a black hat, scarf, and a red shawl.
Matching Klum's dedication to the theme, Kaulitz also dressed up as E.T. While he had the same quintessential wrinkled skin and strikingly large eyes, his portrayal featured subtle differences that distinguished him as Klum's extraterrestrial counterpart.

In addition to online photos, Klum gave her followers behind-the-scenes glimpses showing the intricate process of becoming the famous extraterrestrial. "Heidi, phone home! #HeidiHalloween," reads the caption of one transformation post made in collaboration with Prime Video.
There is also a video displaying the dramatic entrance Klum and Kaulitz made at her annual New York City Halloween party.
The set-up at the event was elaborate, with two individuals dressed in disposable overalls and white face masks standing in front of a "Heidi Klum Halloween" backdrop and acting as scientists on the brink of an extraterrestrial discovery.

The "AGT" judge's jaw-dropping transformation into E.T. ignited an outpouring of admiration from fans, who flocked to social media to share their excitement.

Klum's husband, who loyally participates in her Halloween adventures, also became a topic of lighthearted humor among followers. "I know her husband be [sic] tired😂 but this is🔥," quipped one commenter.

"Being able to see their faces in the neck is weirding me out," admitted one person. Still, the consensus among observers remained embedded in amazement.
"Omg [sic] they look amazing. Must be nice to have money to do whatever you want. I'm so jealous," added an Instagrammer who couldn't help but envy Klum's financial resources.

In a candid breakdown of her E.T. costume with The New York Times before her party, Klum offered the public an inside look at the meticulous process behind one of her most ambitious Halloween transformations to date.
"This is very high-tech," boasted the TV star as her team worked around her, adding the finishing touches to a costume that featured a motorized headpiece with a movable mouth. The costume's expressive eyes were controlled remotely by one of her team members.

Another key detail included building the red carpet several feet in the air to create the illusion that her "knobby, otherworldly toes" were planted directly on the floor.
During the discussion, Klum, who revealed that she was even wearing an adult diaper under the intricate outfit, explained, "Maybe I never need to use the diaper, but at least that way I don't have to think about it," which highlighted the practical challenges of such an elaborate getup.

According to the star, the inspiration for this costume came to her just weeks after her 2023 Halloween bash. Klum shared this as she reminisced about her childhood love for Spielberg's movie before adding that she was drawn to the alien's lack of distinct features.
"They have no genitals," noted the model with a laugh. "I like the whole idea of, like, we're all the same." As the final touches were applied in a suite at the Hard Rock Hotel in Midtown, her team meticulously crafted every element to match the look of the beloved character.

The atmosphere buzzed with activity, as costume designer Mike Marino worked to secure Klum's robotic headpiece with glue guns and blow dryers in hand.
Tables surrounding the star were laden with paints, false eyelashes, and padding for her alien stomach, and there were also references from the film, including movie stills, jars of baby powder, and K-Y jelly, that guided the creation process.
Her E.T. suit was crafted with 3-D printing technology and had a zipper running from the top of her head down her spine. Once zipped in, her team carefully covered the costume's seams with more pieces of fake skin and airbrush makeup, ensuring a flawless finish.
Klum's 2024 costume was yet another product of her long-standing collaboration with Marino, who has been behind several of her most iconic Halloween looks.
From her hyper-realistic worm costume in 2022 to her over-the-top robot ensemble in 2010, each look has continued to cement her reputation as Halloween's reigning queen.

Reflecting on her long legacy of Halloween transformations, Klum shared candid insights into the intense preparation and creativity behind each of her iconic looks during a 2023 interview with People magazine.
She revealed the passion and pressure that drives her, admitting, "I have sleepless nights over Halloween, you have no idea."
For Heidi Klum, each year's costume is not just about wearing something unique; it's about pushing boundaries and capturing the imagination of her fans and party guests alike.
Discussing the challenges of her Halloween process, Klum noted that there's little room for trial and error. "There is no rehearsal. I can't rehearse this, it's only on the day," explained the "Project Runway" alum before confessing with a laugh, "I always hope that it works out."

The 51-year-old's costumes are known for their originality, as they often diverge from the conventional choices of others.
While reminiscing about her 2001 Lady Godiva costume, she divulged, "Most people do like, nurses or police officers, or — but I was always looking for something that I hadn't seen, and so I was Lady Godiva. I came on a horse, obviously. It was a police horse from New York City."

She also spoke about her preference for hosting her parties in The Big Apple, where guests tend to stay and celebrate late into the night as opposed to attendees in Los Angeles.
"I've done one here in L.A. once. People go home at ten/eleven o'clock. I'm like, 'Are you kidding me? I've just spent, I don't know, twelve hours in hair and makeup and you just leave at eleven?' No, can't do that," expressed Klum.
Over the years, Klum's costumes have become more ambitious as she has developed relationships with experts in special effects, which has enabled her to bring increasingly complex visions to life.

This access to Hollywood-level effects has allowed her to morph into an array of jaw-dropping characters, from a golden alien emerging from a spaceship to Jessica Rabbit, the forbidden fruit, and even a full-body human anatomy model.
