Fans Surprised by Former 'Vanderpump Rules' Star Ariana Madix's Performance at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade – Video

The 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade saw Ariana Madix take the stage, with her performance sparking a variety of reactions from viewers, some of whom expressed disappointment.

Madix is a talented actress known for starring in the reality series "Vanderpump Rules." She surprised fans when she performed a version of "Lovefool" by The Cardigans atop the Peacock float. She was dressed in an elegant white wool jacket and turtleneck and brought her cheery demeanor to viewers.
However, her efforts were not appreciated by some fans who accused her of lip-syncing. Some of the fans shared their blunt criticism online.
One user remarked, "I thought that you need some talent to participate lol mediocre karaoke 🎤." Others were quick to express their disappointment, "It's prerecorded? I'm happy for her buttttt [sic] I'm not seeing talent."

On a similar note, another fan posted, "Ariana Madix #LipSyncRating an absolutely atrocious sync to a nightmare cover of one of my favorite songs of all time I've seen what I need to see: She gets this year's Jimmy F*llon Award for Flop Sync of the Parade.[sic]"

The criticism continued, with one user noting, "Issues big time dysfunctional," and another harshly commenting, "Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. Real celebrities must have been busy. This was absolutely ridiculous."

One fan found the performance dreary, writing, "It's so cringey! Her lip syncing wasn't even good and she was moving so awkwardly. It's was just as bad as Jimmy Fallon forgetting to hold the fake microphone to face when singing. I don't know maybe it's hard to get quality stars on a holiday [sic]."

Being on fans' tongues is not new for Ariana Madix. She became a bigger star during her time on "Vanderpump Rules," after she was caught in a cheating scandal. Fans sided with Madix when Tom Sandoval's affair with their co-star Raquel Leviss led to the couple's split after nine years together.

The actress was devasted when she learned that Sandoval had a months-long affair with Leviss, who was also one of her best friends. She noted that her anxiety skyrocketed, "Those first few weeks ... just the stomach ache, not being able to fall asleep, not eating and feeling sick even at the idea of wanting to eat. It was really so bad."
Madix said the betrayal was like hitting rock bottom. However, she was hopeful, noting, "There's nowhere else to go from rock bottom except up. So honestly, realizing that really helped me come out of that."

The reality star acknowledged the challenges of going through such a personal ordeal in the spotlight. "But the support from the public has been really amazing and has meant the absolute world to me," she shared.

After season 11 of "Vanderpump Rules" ended, Madix was asked if she would be starring in season 12. Her response was "I don't know." Despite her cryptic response, Lisa Vanderpump has announced that season 12 will feature an entirely new cast, meaning that Madix will not be a part of it.

Vanderpump has shared on Instagram her gratitude for the journey with the outgoing cast over the past 11 years. She wrote, "What a wild ride the last 11 years have been. Thank you to all of our cast for sharing your lives and stories and for being a part of this journey. How I've loved each and every one of you."
Her heartfelt message was accompanied by a picture of the cast members who will not be returning for season 12, including Madix. Vanderpump also welcomed the new cast, who are yet to be named, "In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules."
As for the other great show Madix is involved in, "Love Island USA," she has received a lot of praise for her exceptional hosting, which made season six an amazing one. "It's been my favorite show for a really long time so to be able to be a part of it on that level was amazing," she gushed.

The actress didn't take all the credit for the great season, adding that the cast was also incredible. "They just had a personality, they had the connections with each other and they really just gave themselves and I feel like it was all them," explained Madix.
