Kristen Doute Supports BFF Ariana Madix’s Business Venture amid ‘Scandoval’ Drama

Kristen Doute has been Team Ariana since day one of the 'Scandoval' cheating controversy that broke at the beginning of this month. Over Instagram Stories this week, the author encouraged fans to visit her friend Ariana Madix's new "merch for ride or dies."

Having dated Tom Sandoval before Ariana Madix, Kristen Doute's promotion of the "Vanderpump Rules" bartender's business venture might seem odd to some Bravo fans. On "Scheananigans with Scheana Shay" on March 10, the reality star said, "I'm so lucky to call her a friend for many, many years now."

She added, "Unfortunately, [I] had to, like, thank her for taking him out of my life." Doute was adamant that Sandoval had been riding Madix's coattails and that cheating on her with Raquel Leviss had nothing to do with karma.

Doute and Madix's early relationship was fraught with distrust and petty behavior. The brunette was suspicious of how fast Sandoval, her former boyfriend of six years, moved on with the SUR bartender. He later confirmed that he kissed Madix while he and Doute were still together.

She chose to leave the hostility in the past, noting that another woman can't steal a boyfriend.

In an infamous episode in the third season of "Vanderpump Rules" in 2015, the "Sex, Love, and What Else Matters" podcaster orchestrated a drama-fueled ambush of Madix. She had a Miami woman that she claims hooked up with Sandoval come to the restaurant.

The "Fancy AF Cocktails" co-author admitted in 2016 that she had wholly cut all communication with Doute, including blocking her on social media. She did not accept the brunette's on-air apology for the "Miami Girl" debacle.

By 2018, animosity between the cast mates began to thaw. Doute joked to Us Weekly about how confusing it was that she enjoyed the bartender's company. She conceded that she and Madix weren't quite friends yet, but they're "like buddies" with occasional group hangouts and texts.

In her book, "He's Making You Crazy," published in 2020, Doute wrote that she had forgiven her ex Sandoval and Madix. She chose to leave the hostility in the past, noting that another woman can't steal a boyfriend. Sandoval made a "free-willed choice to leave" her.

Though Madix regrets how she handled the "Miami Girl" situation, she told Us Weekly in 2021 that she does not regret her "decision" to be friends with the author. Kirsten Doute revealed on Nick Vialls's podcast that she only made her "VPR" return because Madix "specifically" asked her to come back.
