"Both my parents and sisters have this disease," she revealed, adding that she had a strong feeling it was eventually going to affect her too.

"My doctor confirmed those suspicions via an X-ray and an MRI: I had osteoarthritis in my thumbs, knees, and hips—all the joints that you don't want to stop moving." She recalled the moment clearly, saying her doctor told her gently, "I can see some arthritis coming."

The diagnosis came when she was in her mid-40s. Garth admitted that she felt "old and confused" by the news, acknowledging how serious and progressive the condition can be. Still, she remained committed to staying active, expressing a desire to keep moving despite the discomfort.
