Andrew Cabot, Husband of Ex-Astronomer HR Exec Kristin Cabot, Releases Official Statement After Coldplay Kiss Cam Scandal
After a viral kiss cam moment with her boss at a July Coldplay concert, Kristin Cabot's quiet divorce filing adds a new layer to the public narrative.
Kristin Cabot, who served as chief people officer at Manhattan-based tech firm Astronomer, filed for divorce weeks after being caught on a stadium kiss cam with her company's married CEO, Andy Byron. Her estranged husband, Andrew Cabot, later issued a public statement.
As reported by NBC News on September 7, 2025, Kristin petitioned for divorce from Massachusetts entrepreneur Andrew on August 13 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The divorce case remains active, with a scheduling conference set for November 26 in the family division of New Hampshire's 10th Circuit Court.
Just one day after NBC's report, on September 8, Andrew responded publicly through a spokeswoman in a statement to People magazine, addressing the timeline of their separation and the viral reaction to the kiss cam footage.
The spokeswoman told the publication that Andrew and Kristin had already separated weeks before the Coldplay concert took place, and that the split was both amicable and private.

Andrew's representative continued, "Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they've always valued." No additional comment was provided on Andrew's behalf.

The kiss cam moment that sparked public scrutiny took place on July 16 during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The widely circulated video showed Andy embracing Kristin after the pair appeared on the venue's live camera.
Their visible discomfort — Kristin covering her face and Andy ducking out of frame — prompted Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to quip from the stage, "Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy."

The moment was broadcast live to thousands of concertgoers, and video of the exchange quickly went viral. In the days and weeks that followed, HR professionals and workplace experts criticized the public display, citing concerns over power dynamics, professional conduct, and the responsibilities of leadership inside corporate environments.
The viral moment not only sparked online speculation and drew scrutiny of those involved and their professional ties. As reported on July 19, several details emerged about Kristin, Andy, and Andrew amid the scandal.
It has since been reported that Andy is married to a woman named Megan Carrigan Byron. Meanwhile, it was previously confirmed that Kristin is a recent divorcée.
According to court records from Massachusetts, Kristin was married to Kenneth Thornby. The pair, who share at least one child, filed for divorce in 2018, and the split was finalized in 2022. As part of the settlement, the court ordered Kenneth to pay a lump sum in child support.
Shortly after the Kiss Cam footage went viral, it was unclear whether Kristin had remarried following her divorce from Kenneth. However, the Daily Mail has since reported that she is married to Andrew, who also serves as COO of Privateer Rum, a Massachusetts-based distillery.
The distillery has been in Andrew's family for six generations, according to his profile on the company's official website. "Responsible for the vision and strategy, Andrew works closely with the team he assembled to produce one of the finest rums in the world," the bio stated.
"One simple question has focused Andrew throughout his career in technology, and time in public education and academia – 'how can we do this better?,'" the website shared.

Andrew holds a seasoned résumé across tech, education, and spirits, according to his LinkedIn profile. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and Philosophy from Northeastern University, a degree in Philosophy from UCLA, and a Master's in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Starting in the mid-1990s, he held several high-ranking roles across various companies before eventually taking over his family's rum business in 2009. However, it remains unclear when he reportedly married the Astronomer executive.
Court documents dated January 2025 indicate that Kristin — listed under her maiden name, Stanek — was still married when she sold a property in Watertown, Massachusetts, for $1.8 million earlier this year.
Additionally, property records obtained by the New York Post show that Andrew and Kristin have shared a residence in Rye, New Hampshire, since 2023. Initially listed as co-residents, the couple ultimately purchased the estate for $2.2 million in February 2025.
Before his relationship with Kristin, Andrew was previously married twice, according to public records, first in 1993 and again in 2014. He has two children from his first marriage to Maud Cabot.
In May 2024, Kristin was present at the 25th birthday celebration of Andrew's daughter, marking one of the few public indications of their relationship before the Coldplay footage brought it into wider view.

Maud, Andrew's ex-wife, shared photos from the birthday celebration on Facebook, including images of Kristin posing alongside Andrew and his family. While Andrew also maintains a Facebook account, it has not been publicly active since 2020.
Kristin, however, appears to have taken a different approach. She has deactivated all of her social media accounts, following intense speculation after the concert seemingly exposed her as Andy's rumored mistress.
