"I was praying to God that I was pregnant," she said, describing how the possibility of new life became her only anchor in that devastating moment. Erika and Charlie already share a daughter, age three, and a one-year-old son. They had spoken frequently of expanding their family and embracing the chaotic, joy-filled life they envisioned.
During the intimate conversation, Erika also delivered a heartfelt message to younger women. She urged them to consider starting families earlier if it fits their life plans. She emphasized that careers can be rebuilt, but the chance to bear children is fleeting and irreplaceable.
Erika shared how she and Charlie had been overjoyed about what the future held. "We were really excited to expand our family," she said.
A Nation in Shock – Charlie Kirk Gunned Down at 31 in Utah
The trauma Erika described is rooted in a very public tragedy — one that sent shockwaves across the nation. On September 10, Charlie, just 31, was shot and killed while hosting a "Prove Me Wrong" table at Utah Valley University during the kickoff of his American Comeback Tour.

A Manhunt, an Arrest, and a Chilling Courtroom Battle Ahead
Authorities wasted no time launching a manhunt. By the following day, police had arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the slaying. He now faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder, and prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray confirmed.
At the time, Erika was swiftly granted a protective order against Robinson. But despite the shocking circumstances, Erika's public response stunned many. She spoke of forgiveness just days after losing her husband.

She shared how Charlie had dedicated his life to reaching out to young men, even those like the suspect charged with taking his life. Her heartfelt speech also painted a vivid picture of their love, the emotional toll of his demanding travel schedule, and her new role as CEO of Turning Point USA, the conservative organization her late husband founded.
A Whirlwind Romance That Ended in Unthinkable Loss
Theirs was a love story that bloomed fast and fierce. Charlie and Erika Kirk met in 2018, a moment he once described as the instant he almost immediately knew she was the one.
By December 2020, he had proposed. They tied the knot the following spring — May 8, 2021 — in an intimate ceremony in Scottsdale, Arizona, surrounded by only close family and no formal wedding party.
Erika later wrote about that sacred day in a February 2024 post, describing it as very intimate, a private beginning to the life they had begun to build — before it was cruelly ripped apart.
