But just days before this New York appearance, Gellar shared a very different update in an Instagram video. She revealed that Hulu had decided not to continue with "Buffy: New Sunnydale."

"So, I am really sad to have to share this, but I wanted you all to hear it from me. Unfortunately, Hulu has decided not to move forward with Buffy," she said. She also thanked Zhao, adding, "And I promise, if the apocalypse actually comes, you could still beat me."

That shift made this fashion moment feel bigger than just a press-tour outfit. Gellar was out promoting "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" while also facing fresh disappointment tied to one of the most beloved chapters of her career.
