'Superman' Actress Valerie Perrine Passed Away – What We Know

Valerie Perrine, the acclaimed actress best known for her role in the original Superman films, has died at the age of 82.

Perrine became widely recognized for her portrayal of Eve Teschmacher in Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980), starring opposite Gene Hackman’s Lex Luthor. Her performance brought warmth and complexity to the role, making her a fan favorite. Those close to her say she recently spent time revisiting her past work, watching her films just days before her passing.

Her family has shared that Perrine passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after years of fighting the disease. Her brother, Ken Perrine, paid tribute in an emotional message, remembering her as someone who “lived an extraordinary life most us can only dream of” and who “fought till the end and never gave up.”

In accordance with her final wishes, her family hopes to lay her to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills. A fundraiser has been launched to help cover funeral and burial expenses.
