Josiah Duggar breaks a major Duggar family rule
The Duggars have always had rules and boundaries for their family and most of them follow it to a T. But not Josiah. Apparently, he has broken a major family rule but he didn’t seem to mind.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar do not allow their children to be on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or any social media platform until they get engaged. Every one of the 19 Duggar kids has obeyed this except for Josiah. Inquisitr has the details.
The newly-engaged Josiah has broken one of the biggest Duggar family rules for years and people wonder what made him special.
He had an Instagram account before he even popped the question to his now-fiancee Lauren Swanson. The 21-year-old has been on social media, particularly Instagram and Twitter, for years even when his older siblings such as Jana and John David were like him— single. But both are offline.
Private phone calls and hand-holding, as well as social media account,s are also off limits. But Josiah had his accounts in 2015 when he was still courting Marjorie Jackson. The relationship didn’t last but he kept his social media presence. It might look like that there is room for this online rule.
Not only did he break the ‘no social media until engaged’ rule but he was also the only one in the family who courted twice before finding the right partner. Everyone else’s first courtship led to an engagement and marriage.
He and Swanson made their engagement announcement early this month but before they officially announced it, he posted a photo of them FaceTiming each other. The session looked like it was unchaperoned. It really does look like that Josiah is the type to bend the rules a bit.
On the family’s YouTube channel, the couple and the Duggars patriarch and matriarch spoke about love and marriage and welcomed her to the family. The newly-engaged couple still has to announce a wedding date but if you noticed from the last two Duggar weddings, which were moved months ahead of schedule, it might be soon.
